It appears this article was written prior to Sherod Murdock canceling his official visit to Bama. If everything turns out just right Bama could have a big weekend with a couple more commitments.
Scout.com five-star defensive tackle John Brown, from Lakeland, (Fla.) headlines this group of official visitors. Brown will make his decision between Alabama and Florida. A decision is expected as early as this weekend.
That's a lot of star power, to be sure. Here's hoping this weekend goes as well as last weekend. Let's also hope we save some good luck for the 02-02 weekend, it seems to be potentially the biggest recruiting weekend, as it should be.

Alabama's last best chance to sway Mobile's Sidell Corley away from Florida will come this weekend when Corley and UMS-Wright receiver Brandon Gibson headline a batch of prospects visiting the Crimson Tide.
Corley, the 6-4, 250-pound defensive end out of McGill-Toolen who ranks No. 2 on the Press-Register's Elite 18 list, is using the visit to work on relationships with the new Nick Saban coaching staff.
"This is a staff and scheme visit," said Sidell Corley Sr., the player's father. "We've been up there about five times already, so we know Alabama has great facilities.

Gibson, Maze, and Burnett all had basketball games Friday night and aren't expected until today. Cooper will be in today.
Brown, Fanuzzi, Corley, and apparently Luther Davis were here last night.
McGaskin's ride "fell through"......makes me go hmmmm.
Not saying it ain't true, but I find it strange that Luther Davis was there last night. The LSU commit has been quoted as saying if CNS was coach at LSU, he would not be going to LSU. Seems his family has some problem with the way CNS recruited his brother while CNS was at LSU. I just can't wait for 2-7 so the ridiculous rumors can be proven true or false! I would've thought CNS had a better chance at swaying Will Blackwell, another LSU commit and HS teammate of Luther Davis. CNS and Blackwell's father had a relationship as his dad is a coach at W. Monroe High School. Saban heavily recruited the school while at LSU.

Well I just hope Big Luther doesn't lose his LSU offer over this. He is now listed as a "Soft Verbal" to LSU in his Scout.com profile. His Alabama visit date is listed also. I hate purple and gold, but just for you...

Don't buy into anything Tigerland says. I seriously doubt CLM would pull an offer if someone chose to visit another school. Like I said, though...I can't wait for 2-7!

By the way, I looked on Joe McKnight's latest profile, and it says he has a visit on 2-2 to an SEC school with Red and White uniforms, and starts with an A...Arkansas???? That cannot be right, can it?

I personally believe a lot of the kids take visits already knowing who they're going to sign with and I believe a majority of the kids coming out of highschool know very early in the recruiting process who they are gonna sign with.
They're 17-18 year old kids and will milk the attention for all its worth. Most of these kids will never get this kind of star treatment again and they know it. The Luther kid probably has purple gold under wear and is a "lock" to LSU. But he gets to travel on someone else's dime and it's fun.

Can you blame them?? Just because they pull our misplaced heart strings in the recruiting game doesn't mean we should hate them.....IMHO

Who knows, maybe we can get 'em both! We certainly can dangle the bait (no pun intended)of early playing time.......without misleading anyone. NSD is gonna be interesting this year!
