Looks like it went well, carpooled with McKenzie. Used the term "soft, soft commitment"

That's too bad if he decommits. He seems to be a very solid QB. With JPW as a junior next season and then Barnes as a SO and McElroy as a RS-FR, is it the end of the world if we don't get a QB? Personally, if we can pick up a commitment from a solid DL or LB, I'd rather have that position in this class over another QB.

Mr. Marve, "If you shop, WE will shop." RTR! May the kids who really want to be here come on!

Most of the time you'd like to have one Qb per class but given our low numbers and the fact we narrowly missed out on some big fish this year (Paulus, Mallett and Brantley) who's to say we can't do better focusing on the position in 2008 and saving the spot?

I'm not really sure why if we are looking for a QB, we haven't even tried to talk to Mr. Football in Alabama. Larry Smith is committed to Vandy, but you think Coach Saban and his staff would have at least made an effort to get him to visit. From what I've heard, he hasn't recieved anything beyond a passing greeting. I lived in San Antonio before moving here, and am familiar with Churchill H.S. I can state there is no comparision between the competition Fanuzzi faced and Larry Smith faced.

Smith was the best player on the field in the state championship game.

I know Marve is from FL and I wear Crimson colored glasses but this decision doesn't seem like a good one. Miami is clearly on a down note whereas Bama is on the rise. Also, we have better facilities hands down, a far better fan base, and aren't in danger of having our football program cut. Unless he's worried about playing time, I can't see Miami being more attractive than Bama.

I consider Marve gone. He's not coming to Bama.

At least we seem to have a good back-up plan in Fanuzzi if he decides to go to Miami.
