I'm new to tidefans and am not as informed as some of the recruiting gurus here. So did we win the recruiting battle on the home front, or did the barn take the state this year.

I'd say it is pretty much even. According to Rivals, 4 of the top ten players in the state went to Bama, 4 to Auburn. I would, however, give us the slight edge as we did get 3 of the top 5. Auburn only got 1 http://alabama.rivals.com/viewrank.asp?ra_key=1586

IMO,JC is a solid prospect.but hardly a top 20 on the state and certainly not better than W V out of Mt Brook.Yes, the Barners are sick and beginning to see the light at the end of the tunnel!

Of those listed Alabama took 11 of the 18 for the two schools. This has to have the Auburn staff knowing that next year (Kirk Hebstriet ESPN Said) when Alabama gets rolling they control that state. Bingo that was a goodie. It appears it started this recruiting cycle.

Some recruiting analysts and Auburn fans are saying this is CTTs best recruiting class ever.
Despite that belief, Alabama whips them in state and ties them nationally with three Rivals 100 players.
Alabama
35 Rolando McClain
56 Kerry Murphy
100 Brandon Gibson
Auburn
30 Enrique Davis
61 Lee Ziemba
86 Michael McNeil Rivals.com Rivals100 2007 |

Poor Barners. Win 5 in a row against your rival, and you still can't out recruit them.
