Deion vs. Bush

DiggThis

What is the difference between Bush talking to McKnight and Deion talking to Devine? It seems to me both would be a violation. A former player cannot talk to a recruit about schools. I'm i wrong or is there a special rule i don't know about.

Re: Deion vs. Bush

Deion actually had Devine living with him as I think a Gaurdian. Big diff. The thing that makes Bush illegal is they said Coach PC set the talk up between Bush and McKnight. They can talk to each other on their own, not as a set up with the coach.

Re: Deion vs. Bush

Also, Deion is not steering Devine to FSU.

Re: Deion vs. Bush

Deion had a prior relationship with Devine acting as his mentor. Bush didn't know McKnight from Adam.

Re: Deion vs. Bush

It is the prior relationship that Queasy mentioned. If a recruit has a relationship with someone prior to becoming a recruit, then there is no violation.

Re: Deion vs. Bush

Exactly . CPC should've taken the old school route . These conversations used to be set up by using the "# game" . Someone loosely connected casually approaches "prospect A" and says ......

"Former All-American/NFL All-Pro , ------ ------ , saw your film and thinks your awesome . Says your the best . Here's his # . Their game is at home this week and he usually has some free time at home in the early evenings . Give him a call ." Something like that .

In this case , Bush's # and message should've been filtered down to Coach Curtis and J.McKnight . That's the way it used to work , so that the prospect would be the one who initiates the "direct contact" .

Re: Deion vs. Bush

Deion would beat Bush by 3 yards in the 40 yard dash and a by a full first down in the 100. Slightly more if he highsteps.
