I really wanted this guy. Would have been nice to have him on the inside with Prince Hall, not to mention Alex Watkins and Rolando McClain on the outside. I know he had some personal issues to clear up, but I think he would have been straightend out by Saban. Oh well, WVU got a good one.

This is a good thing for us. One of the big things wrong with the team in the past couple of years was a lack of character at crunch time. Yes, there were notable exceptions (Ryans, Harper and Prothro, to name a few). But there were enough troublemakers and corner-cutters to undermine overall esprit de corps.
Keys was a problem, the kid from Hoover (terrible waste of talent, but I can't recall his name for the life of me -- Dawson?) was a problem, and there have been strong hints from the mods about others still on the team.
We need oneness, character and team-first attitudes way more than we need LB talent. Best of luck to Lazear. I hope he turns things around. But I'm glad he'll be trying elsewhere.

yes the guy from hoover was curtis dawson. i saw the other day he signed with west alabama. so he went from hoover to bama to home to bama to uab to troy to some miss juco to west alabama all in 3 or 4 years.
