Link RB Mike Marrow Update

Does anybody have any idea whether we are looking at him as an ILB or a RB? This guy is huge. If he is quick as people say he might be a valuable weapon in the backfield.

Anybody know anything about him?

Re: Mike Marrow RB or LB?

Talk about your ultimate "power back." This guy is absolutely massive, I would love to see him in our backfield, or anywhere on our team for that matter.

Mike Marrow is the ultimate H-back. He runs a 4.8 second 40-yard dash, bench presses 390 pounds, and squats 515 pounds. He is big, strong, and physical and he plays both RB and LB in HS. He is being pursued by Alabama, Ohio State, Notre Dame, Penn State, and Nebraska among others. He said he was hearing from Alabama back in December. Right now he holds offers from Alabama, Penn State, Nebraska, and Toledo. There will be more to follow I am sure.

Scout's Mike Marrow profile is not quite up to date yet.

Big A Re: Mike Marrow RB or LB?

TI has an article on him today and he has named Alabama as his leader.

He will be visiting Alabama around June 1st.

I agree. At 6'1" 235 with a 4.8 / 40 he could be a terror.......especially late in a game with a lead & as a closer. Talk about tackling a runaway Mack Truck!

His father is not Bobby Williams. His father is Vince Marrow who played tight end for the Buffalo Bills back during their Super Bowl years. CNS was the Toledo head coach when his father played TE for Toledo.

Re: RB Mike Marrow Update

Father / son relationships aside...

He sounds like he would be a great haul. He's a big kid with a lot of athleticism, and you can never have too many of those.

Re: RB Mike Marrow Update

Also, Bobby Williams is not our RB coach. That title belongs to Burton Burns.

Mike Marrow named Alabama as his favorite. He said he plans on announcing where he will commit by the end of June after he takes some visits to some of the schools that have offered him.

Big A Re: RB Mike Marrow Update

4.8/40 is good for a LB or FB, but not for HB. Way too slow.
