Fortunately, though, he says he will be not be making a decision any time soon, so we've got some time to get back in front with him.
At the moment, he's not sure if he's going to attend the Alabama camp next week, or if he's going to attend the USC camp. Hopefully he'll come to Tuscaloosa and we can start changing his mind.
Two months ago I felt great about our chances of signing Jeffery. After reading interviews with him in recent weeks, I don't feel very good about our chances of signing him.

I know, these South Carolina kids are really getting annoying in a lot of ways.
Last year with led for Robert Quinn for months, and he changed his mind in the final three weeks and committed to North Carolina. We led for Chris Bonds for a while earlier this year, and now he's leaning to Tennessee. And now with Jeffery, we led for him for a long time, and now he's looking like he's South Carolina bound.
I'll be the first to admit, it's getting a but frustrating.
I think we get him if he'll just take a trip to Tuscaloosa for Nick Saban's Football Camp. Otherwise, I think the pressure to stay home will be to much to overcome with just in-home visits and calls later on. Of course if he delays until official visit time, that a whole other scenario.

Coach Bryant, after announcing his retirement, was asked if he was dissappointed that an Alabama player had never won the Heisman Trophy while he was the coach. He said, "No!", and added, "At Alabama our players do not win Heisman Trophies, our teams win national championships."
Jeffery was quoted as saying in a recent interview one of the pluses of going to South Carolina is his family can come to the games and watch him play.
Some kids don't think twice about going out of state. Other kids say distance from home will factor in their decision. Early on it seemed that Jeffery wanted to leave South Carolina. Now it seems he's had a change of heart.

I hope he can make a good decision and stick with it. Give us a chance and not string us along. We can't get em all so I would rather they let us know sooner than later if we don't fit into his plans, that way we can move forward with the next guy.

I'm starting to feel the same way.

USC has taken the lead for linebacker Damario Jeffery (6-3, 213) of Columbia. The Gamecocks, Auburn and Alabama are his top three, and he also is giving Virginia Tech some thought. He visited Blacksburg on Friday and met with coach Frank Beamer, defensive coordinator Bud Foster and defensive backs coach Torian Gray. This week Jeffrey said he might attend the camp at USC or make a visit to Alabama.

But Jeffery said he still has a top three of USC, Alabama and Auburn. "I would say South Carolina is number one overall," Jeffery said adding he's not close to making a commitment. Next week, Jeffery said he might take a trip to Alabama or he might attend a camp at USC.
