Safety Damario Jeffery has named Alabama, Auburn, and South Carolina as his top three right now, in no particular order. It sounds like Georgia could jump into the mix if they offer, but with their limited numbers that has not happened yet.
Anyway, Jeffery has offers from virtually every school in the country -- including Alabama, USC, Oklahoma, etc. -- and could have his pick of the litter.
More good news for 'Bama fans... When discussing his top three schools, he used the word "love" zero times for Auburn and South Carolina, but used the word "love" four times while discussing Alabama. Simply put, he loves Alabama, he loves the academic buildings, he loves the football fields, and he loves Coach Saban. It's a bit subliminal, I know, but that's a lotta love for 'Bama. Our chances look very good for Mr. Jeffery.
Wow, 6'3" 215 FS sounds good in a CNS secondary. With a former walk on that starts now at FS for Bama that CNS has helped turn into an All-SEC selection that will be making the spot available for you D.J.

Come to Bama Come to Bama
Or a nice OLB, with tremendous speed. Either way, this guy can really become a feared defender in the eyes of opposing offenses.

Coach Bryant, after announcing his retirement, was asked if he was dissappointed that an Alabama player had never won the Heisman Trophy while he was the coach. He said, "No!", and added, "At Alabama our players do not win Heisman Trophies, our teams win national championships."
Jeffery would be a huge pickup IMHO. I like our chances at this point.

I think about how good the LSU secondary has been lately, and I smile because I see the Tide secondary growing into that dominat type of unit over the next couple of years.
I read a premium article on Jeffery today. He said his top three are Alabama, All-Barn and South Carolina. He said they are all even.
Even though he says they are all even, I feel pretty good about our chances, but I did not think he was seriously considering South Carolina. I know he lives close to the South Carolina campus, he seemed to want to get out of South Carolina in an interview I read a few months ago. Now he says it would be good to play at South Carolina because his family could see him play.

Judging by all of his comments to date, I would be extremely surprised if that were to happen. I'd actually be a bit surprised if he went to South Carolina in general, and would be extremely surprised if he were going to commit soon.
I have not kept up with recruiting just yet, as I needed a breathing session after last year's class. So, to be honest I have no clue how right or wrong he is. I was just passing along information. However,as I have told him, as a homer i would LOVE to see this kid wearing Crimson. However, in state pressure and more over in city pressure to stay in Columbia is great to say the least.
"I plan on making a checklist and I'll go through everything that I like," Damario Jeffery said. "It'll include the coaches and the guys they are recruiting and stuff. I'm big on recruiting, so I want a program that puts together good recruiting classes. I want to have a chance to play for a national championship in college." Jeffery says he'll definitely visit Alabama and Auburn officially.
Damario Jeffery, the 6-foot-3, 211-pound safety/linebacker from Columbia, S.C., now says he has three leaders from among around 20 scholarship offers.
Scout.com's No. 7 weakside linebacker said he now favors South Carolina, Auburn and Alabama solidly over Oklahoma and Virginia Tech.

I'm very excited about the level of talent that CNS is bringing in at the DB positions. It would appear that if we get the recruits we are expected in this class(not to mention being a favorite for '10 safety Jarrick Williams) we will have the top secendary in the country in a year or two. can you imagine being a quarterback throwing at a group of defenders in a dime package that have the names Kareem Jackson, Alonzo Lawerence, B.J. Scott, Damario Jeffery, and Dre Kirkpatick. Not to mention these guys will be working with CNS directly for 4 years. There is deffinately no weakness to attack in that secondary. and the success of these guys will only spark the interest of elite prospects down the road... ROLL TIDE ROLL!
