Marlon Brown's top ten list reads like a who's who of college football and it's no accident. "I care about football history and I care about tradition," Brown said. "I want a school that is known for winning." Besides tradition, Brown says the most important decision factor is going to be the coaches. "I just want to play for great coaches. I don't care about their coaching style. For me..."
Marlon Brown, the 6-foot-5, 205-pound five-star wide receiver from Harding High School in Memphis, Tenn., continues to deny a favorite from among approximately 35 scholarship offers.

It seems strange that if tradition and good coaching are major factors in his decision making that Alabama isn't even in the top ten. I certainly understand most of the list. He is a good player and we don't get him I hope he goes Pac-10!

The sad fact is that for an 18-year-old like this young man, the schools he listed ARE the traditional powers in his lifetime. He is too young to remember the last NC. This is the biggest result of repeatedly shooting ourselves in the foot for the last 20 years. I shudder to think where we would be headed if we had not hit the home run with Saban.

Maybe he should qualify that statement with a "recent" added to it. Sounds more than a little full of himself. Good luck to him, wherever he lands.

No big surprise to me, I never thought we had much of a chance in the first place. Hopefully he'll go West, it would be great to see the fat one get snubbed by another top in-state prospect!

Some on the list are recent winners ala USC, FL and LSU. Not Stanford or UCLA. When's the last time they won anything? Basketball maybe? I don't follow basketball, so I'm only guessing.
You have to believe that CNS backed off of him for some reason if we didn't even make his top ten.

Yes,to be honest,I never had him penciled in on my potential prospects list either.I have no issues with him, I just never felt Bama was in his list of potential schools of interest.
