Tim Simon continues his assault on the record books.
Cordova's 6-foot-2, 215-pound running back scored five more touchdowns Friday at West Blocton, raising his total for the season to 29. He has 116 for his prep career and will likely finish third on the AHSAA's all-time list.
The big question about Simon is this: Where will he play next year?

I would suggest to anyone who has a chance to go to this game, should take it.

Offensively, he'd be a great fit at OM or MSU. We just have higher priorities for him to be at RB at Bama.
If he signs with Bama it will be as an ATH/S/LB. He knows that and has said that even though he will have to play on defense at Bama that he is still considering them among his favorites.
I can not remember a recruiting class log jam of so many top prospects considering Bama with so few openings left. Especially at this point in the season. Like I have said in other threads watching this class take shape down the stretch to NSD will be very interesting for us Tide fans.

Man, and how the class was shaping up a few months ago, I thought NSD was really going to be routine with a lot of our recruits already being committed before February ... now I'm as excited as I was for last season's class!!!

Definately a good problem to have.

Final Regular Season Game-Blue Devils Limping into Playoffs
Look for Simon to make his choice pretty soon after the playoffs. I think Cordova will be out after the first or second round. They`ve lost 5 starters for the season (4 to injuries).

Does he actually have a commitable offer from Bama? This story states that he has battled asthma throughout his career, which has to raise some durability questions even though it sounds like he's handling it alright.
Recruiters have two concerns about him: does he have enough breakaway speed and is he durable enough? Friday provided some pretty positive answers. Simon accounted for 293 all-purpose yards and scored five touchdowns, including a 95-yard kick return and a 65-yard reception of a swing pass, which he converted into a long-distance gallop. He also played both ways. Some schools believe he has a bigger future on defense. He plays linebacker for Cordova. He doesn't plan to wait until signing day to make a decision. In fact, he said, a decision could come soon. He said Alabama has offered, but I have not confirmed that yet. (That's not a knock on the kid -- rules prohibit coaches from commenting on prospects, so it sometimes takes awhile to get the answer). As for the other knock against Simon, much of that is based on asthma he's battled with most of his life. He's taking a new medicine and seems to play without any letdowns. After scoring on the 95-yard kick return, he was back on the field for the first snap on defense, following a kickoff.
Pretty certain on the offer. I`ve been watching him play since his he was in the 9th grade and I didn`t know he had asthma until the story came out this year. I`ve yet to see him come out of a game due to it.

Simon committed to Ole Miss today. A good fit, IMO.
I agree. A whole lot easier to stomach than the barn or Vol`n`tears.

I couldn't agree more.
We are very deep at RB and with the commitment of Trent Richardson, I can see why we did not have room for Simon at RB. I just hope this one does not come back to haunt us.
