This one feels -- oh, how shall we put it -- tenuous.
^^^Im not even this optimistic about this guy^^^
I guess if he waits till after NSD to get his scores up, then he's ours. If he does it before and Georgia wants him, he will decommit and go there.
I would really rather not be someone's second choice. I want kids to be enthusiastic about coming here....and he was uh....a little less than enthusiastic about his commitment.

Sounds okay, but I'll wait about getting too excited about this one. He either needs to commit or hang-out and wait on GA, if thats where his heart is, IMO.
If he has his grades/score in order, he shouldn't have anything to worry about if that was their only condition.

I would be glad to have him on the field, as I'm sure he would warm up to the Capstone once he actually gives us a chance.
However, it kinda gives me the same feeling I had right after the Tulane game, i.e. yeah we got what we wanted, but we didn't get it the way we would've liked. IMHO of course.
I'd rather have Kendal Kelly or another wide receiver who REALLY wants to play at Alabama and not settle for us.
My thoughts exactly.....
Hopefully we get Kelly, and if I was a receiver. I would want to come to a team where our other receiver is going to see double coverage most of the time................
After reading the articles. I think this cat will jump ship maybe if offered a scholarship from Georgia. Who knows, and you never know sometimes with recruits. Maybe Bowman thinks he can get on the field sooner at Bama too....
I think we'll all be cautious with Bowman until he actually steps foot on campus. It doesn't give you a very good feeling at all reading his quotes. That being said, if he makes it here, he's gonna be a big-time playmaker for us.
Keep in mind that his next scheduled ACT testing is in October and he says he needs 3-4 points on it to be qualified. So we may know something on him fairly soon. I've never seen a recruit commit to 'Bama that is so "sold" on another school as this kid is to UGA. Athens is where he wants to be. Hopefully he'll get his academics worked out and end up wherever makes him content...whether it be here or in Athens.
The other thing that concerns me here is the ramifications with Bumphis. I hope this is not an indication that he's leaning towards MSU. I really, really hope we can land Bumphis...

according to his coach this morning, he hasn't committed, yet....
There are plenty of kids that don't get to play for their favorites....and a lot of times, those kids play with chips on their shoulders....if he comes to Bama, he'll be happy and a good player....
The latest info from Bowman's HS Coach Mark Mariakis is that Bowman has not committed to Alabama. Bowman and his parents are going to visit Alabama this weekend and they will make a decision after that. I would say short of Georgia offering him between now and then that he will commit to Alabama.
To those that are saying they don't want Bowman if his heart is set on playing at UGA and he is only coming here if they don't offer him, I would remind y'all that over the last six years Auburn has been beating us with some talented players that wanted to come to Alabama but did not get an offer. QB Brandon Cox comes immediately to mind, he never lost to Alabama but he grew up a Jay Barker fan and with the dream to play at Alabama. He did not get an offer.
I am going to change this thread back to update and we will see what happens this weekend.

I thought so but upon further review this morning he has not committed to Alabama. But it sounds like he intends to commit this weekend unless UGA offers him which I doubt they will until he is qualified or has a qualifying test. Even if Bowman does commit some are saying if UGA offers later then he will jump ship. This one will be interesting to follow up until NSD to say the least.
I am really hoping Bama lands WRs Kendall Kelly, Chad Bumphis, and/or Kevin Norwood. I had thought Bowman was a longshot before the latest developments. I would say two or three of the four above would be a great WR class.
