Ridgeland wide receiver Michael Bowman said he will make an unofficial visit to Georgia for the second week in a row.
The 6-foot-5, 222-pound Bowman is hoping this Saturday he can get a few minutes with Georgia coach Mark Richt to see if he can go ahead and commit to the Bulldogs. “Georgia has always been No. 1, and it would be great to get all this recruiting over with so I can focus on school and my senior season. We’ll see what happens.”

I didn't think coaches could speak with recruits after games? Has anyone else heard anything about a rule like this? He would be a big steal, if GA doesn't have room for him.
I'd rather have Kendal Kelly or another wide receiver who REALLY wants to play at Alabama and not settle for us.

Bowman is a good WR prospect but I was really hoping that we would land Kelly and Bumphis and I am not sure that we have the scholarship numbers to take more than two WR.
But, maybe our position is not as good as I had hoped with Bumphis. I really think that Kelly will be wearing crimson.
Bowman said he is “very close” to meeting college entrance requirements. He said Georgia promised a scholarship offer, providing he raises his test scores. Bowman said other schools recruiting him, including Alabama, have gone ahead and extended offers, assuming he’ll eventually qualify.

Good news. Another 4* on board. Hope he gets his scores in order, seems like a great prospect. Seems like there's a good bit of fear on him qualifying. I've heard from others that think Scout won't even rank him properly due to his scores. I just say Scout sucks at ranking players
Welcome Mr. Bowman. Show Richt what he missed out on when you're winning championships with us
A commitment from this kid will be worth nothing if he qualifies and UGA still has room for him. Maybe his talk about committing to Bama will prompt Kelly and/or Bumphis to pull the trigger.
I look at him as a great bonus. I never expected to get him, and the only WR that Im would be stressing over this year is Kelly and I feel like he's as good as ours. I also really want Bumphis and hope he still commits

Coach Bryant, after announcing his retirement, was asked if he was dissappointed that an Alabama player had never won the Heisman Trophy while he was the coach. He said, "No!", and added, "At Alabama our players do not win Heisman Trophies, our teams win national championships."
Thanks for the link. This is some great news Bowman is a very good WR.
Apparently AJC scooped the Recruiting sites. Rivals, Scout, TiderInsider, etc are not reporting this. I am going to go with his commitment using his quotes as the source.
Everyone knows Georgia already has a lot [14] of commitments. And if I wait any longer, Georgia could fill up, and I could jeopardize my scholarships with other schools as other wide receivers pick their colleges. I probably shouldn’t have even waited this long … but I did because I wanted to be a Georgia Bulldog so badly.”
Bowman said he is choosing Alabama over LSU and Oregon, among around a dozen offers. “Alabama said with [freshman sensation] Julio Jones on one side at receiver, and me on the other, who could stop us? They told me ‘I am a big part of the future of Alabama football’ and that I shouldn’t wait on Georgia any longer while they already have a place for me.”
