A running back has topped the Rivals.com prep school top 50 in each of the past two seasons, as Miami's Graig Cooper led the way in 2007 and Auburn's Enrique Davis was tops in 2008. This year, the list is headed by massive offensive tackle Bobby Massie, a 6-foot-8, 335-pounder out of Chatham (Va.) Hargrave Military Academy.
"Bobby Massie has the potential to be a top-five NFL draft choice," Hargrave coach Robert Prunty said. "This kid is special. He has great size, feet and agility – he has the agility of a defensive end at his size. I've had some great linemen over the years, but this kid will end up with more offers than anyone else."
Massie – who played at Lynchburg (Va.) Liberty Christian Academy last season – currently seems most interested in Georgia, Clemson, Alabama, North Carolina, Miami and Virginia Tech, although he's not close to narrowing down his list.

What are our chances of getting Massie?
I know he really seems to like Alabama and he is giving us strong consideration, but will we get him or not?

That is a very good question. I wish I knew the answer. I didn't list him in my guess at the final seven commits. It is not because he is not a high priority top OT propsect or that he is not seriously considering Bama, because he is. It is because I just don't think a player of his caliber is going to rush his decision and commit to Bama anytime soon. Bama just may not have a slot left by the time he decides where he wants to go. I guess CNS would do everything he could possibly do to make room if he did pick Bama in the end. I hope that happens, but hope may not get it done with Massie. I believe I read that he grew up a UGA fan. I think he will choose either UGA, Va. Tech., Alabama, or Clemson.

Re: Bobby Massie Tops Rivals.com Prep School Top 50
I had him on my final, and its because he really likes Bama. In June an article where we he named us his favorites over Clemson, but still he wasn't getting a lot of hype (though I suspected the staff was on top of him). He currently names his favorites as Bama/UGA/Clemson. In the last article regarding his decision, he was most excited about UGA/Bama...with UGA's numbers and 3 OL already on board, who knows if they'll wait on him either.
Clemson was all over him last year and didn't get him. Va Tech I think is all but totally out of it for him.
OL Bobby Massie (6-6, 340) of Lynchburg, Va., now favors Alabama after a recent visit to Tuscaloosa. He also has pretty decent offers from the likes of Clemson, North Carolina and Georgia. He will attend Hargrave Prep, Va., this fall.
What about Massie’s other top school, Alabama?
“They are a traditional power,” he stated. “Coach Saban has won everywhere he’s gone, he won at Michigan State and LSU. The only place he didn’t was Miami, but there were other problems there. They send players to the NFL. Andre Smith has a chance to be the No. 1 pick and if I go there I have a chance to go to a national championship. That is really big.”

Re: Bobby Massie Tops Rivals.com Prep School Top 50
It talks about how he feels being in a military environment has made him a better person in general. He also says that being there has been a big step up in competition and he feels that he gets better everyday. On Alabama he says: Alabama: "When I went, all of the freshmen were in, so seeing those guys work. Seeing Coach Pendry work with the offensive line. Then, Andre Smith telling me the reasons he went to Alabama when he could have went anywhere. Being with Coach Saban, he has won a National Championship at LSU and he is a good coach."

IMO, he's ours to lose.

Yeah, I noticed that too. How did that turn out for Auburn anyway?
Enrique Davis ended up de-commiting from the barn and he signed with at Ole Miss. He is listed on their roster but I have not heard anything about him this season.
