Hope the mods don't consider this a duplicate thread since it's an opinion of Norwood's potential and not a report on his recruitment. If so though, I apologize in advance.
I've watched Norwood in two games this season folks and I've got to tell you, he's maybe the best defensive safety in the South. He intercepted three passes in a game last week(Five, I think, in two games) and basically looks like Griffey Jr., in his prime, the way he play's "centerfield". It's like his coach Buddy Singleton told me..."If it's in the air, anywhere near him, he's going to get it".
Norwood is tall and has extremely long arms and can motor.
Problem is,Coach S. say's that Norwood will not sign anywhere that wants to play him on defense.
To me that's unfortunate. He's a very good wide receiver and I think he'll be a great college player wherever he signs, but to me, he's a future NFL'er if he'd switch to the D.
Regardless, he's great kid and I hope we get him. Truly a class kid all the way around.
And his coach is my buddy. Coach Singleton is one of the finest men I've ever met.
He say's..."I think he'll go to Alabama".
We'll see.
His film looks fantastic on both sides of the ball. I think he comes to Bama and gets his shot to be a receiver and if he makes as big of an impact as we think he could be then he will be a weapon for us on offense. If he has a better shot to contribute on D then I think the coaches will make that decision after he has his shot on offense. Either way, I want him. RTR.

I agree. We need this kid regardless.
Fort Bragg N.C....my Dad spent many summers there as an Army Reservist in Intelligence, after serving in the Korean War.
If you're a serviceman thank you so much for serving your country.
It's sincerely appreciated.
RTR!
Thanks for the kind words. I've been here at Bragg for the past 4 1/2 years minus time overseas. Somebody has to do it. RTR.

He has the ability to play on either side of the ball but he'd get his first crack as a WR IMO.

Well technically it is a dupe and I would normally merge it with the Kevin Norwood Update thread. However your post deserves to stand alone as it own thread, especially the Coach Singleton quote..."I think he'll go to Alabama". Thanks for that great insider insight. Keep the reports coming, please.
I along with a whole lot of other folks that watched Norwood's Rivals.com video highlights were equally if not more impressed with Norwood on defense and special teams. I know Bama is recruiting him as a WR and it is being said that he is the top WR prospect on their board. I certainly hope Coach Singleton is right and he signs with Bama.

D'Iberville's new cannon went off prematurely when Miller found Kevin Norwood inches from the goal line on a 23-yard pass. Miller then went over from the 1, then hit Bell with an 11-yard scoring pass after a 31-yard punt return by Norwood.
Norwood's 77-yard return of the second half kickoff set up D'Iberville's final score - a 2-yard sneak by backup quarterback Jake Ladner.
"They have a heckuva ballclub," Poplarville coach Chris Teal said. "One thing I wanted to see tonight was our kids not quit and I didn't see them quit. We have some character guys on this team and that will help us in the future."

i live in south ms, and have seen norwood in person. the guy is huge. i havent seen him play as a safety, but i have as a LB. but he was tremendous on offense when i saw him, hes a great deep threat
And if its true Norwood is gonna visit for Ole Miss then I hope we beat them handily and he commits on the spot. RTR.
