The curious case of Kerry Murphy...
Indeed...well played

SIAP (I'm not going to read all seven pages), but he's listed as enrolled now, with a UA email address...
Shouldn't we go ahead and change the title of the thread?

Re: DT Kerry Murphy Update (1/06): Enrolled but waiting on NCAA clearance
Could be that he went ahead and enrolled at UA for Spring knowing that his grade was good and would pass at NCAA. NCAA is extremely SLOW in processing paperwork. The case may be that he knows his grades are good enough and the coaches may also know that but they have to have paperwork from NCAA before he can be cleared to be listed on the team. This is a distinct possibility.
Since he's worked so hard to get his grades up at Hargrave, I just don't see him enrolling and NOT having the grades. I believe he'll have NCAA clearance as soon as they process his paperwork. They have their "process" and do not deviate....

I know circumstances are not always the same, but you believe that fault is not with the players? Only the Administration and teachers/coaches are the ones at fault? Hmmmmm. It just hit a nerve since I am a high school teacher/coach. I have to respectfully disagree for the most part.
I understand where you're coming from, but Murphy didn't pass himself out of high school - that took some teachers along the way; and if he wasn't really ready to be passed, then that is their fault.

Unfortunately, his name is also connected to a minor scandal at Hoover High School, whether he (or anyone else, for that matter) was ever guilty of anything or not. Add in the fact he's trying to sign with Alabama and the NCAA will try extra-hard to find something to dislike before/if they clear him.
