I am on and off two UT boards all day long and nobody has mentioned anything about a job offer..... Of course there is "discussion" about this subject but I don't think Jackson's father is coming to Knoxville until later this week.

I won't link it here but Janzen's myspace page is linked on our board..... FWIW, it states the following exact quote:
"Mood: UT, LSU, AU "
Well, aside from the fact that someone should probably tell him we're "UA," and not "AU," I guess any uncertainty at this point is a dang good thing for both Alabama and Tennessee.
He'll probably still end up at LSU, and I'm not really expecting anything else, but hey, at least we're making them sweat it out a bit.
And honestly I wouldn't have anything against him ending up at Tennessee, really. This is another one of those things I'm not going to apologize for, but... The Third Saturday in October ought to be the one for all the marbles. Sure I hope Fulmer drops dead tomorrow, and I do loathe the Vols, but Alabama v. Tennessee was the game in this conference for more than six consecutive decades, and I really hope we get back to that. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy the "rivalries" with schools like Florida, LSU, and Georgia, but it's just not the same. There's just something about looking down on that field and seeing nothing but crimson and puke orange...

If UT were to hire Lance Guidry (Janzen Jackson's dad) it could hurt LSU's chances with him much more than it would ours. There were reports than Janzen was already starting to lean toward Bama after Peveto (his recruiter) and Mallory (his future position coach) left LSU. His family moving to Knoxville would remove the in-state pressure for him to attend LSU.
So it comes down to would he attend the school where his father coaches.
If the answer is yes, he switches to UT.
If the answer is no (lots of precedents such as Mark Richt's son signing with Clemson, Urban Meyer's daughter signing with UGA) Bama could very well be his new leader.
I think Urban Meyer's daughter is going to Georgia Tech. But you make a very good point.

CB Janzen Jackson is official visiting LSU the team is a soft verbal to this weekend and Alabama on Jan. 30. I think he will stay with LSU but you never know what will happen if he visits Bama.
I never had heard that Quinn Giles was a Bama CB prospect. He has never been on the Tide Fans prospect list but he is scheduled for an official visit Jan. 30. He just committed to La. Tech. but he says that he is still visiting Bama on Jan. 30. I will add him as a prospect.

CB Janzen Jackson Update (1/25): He talks about his LSU visit
LSU soft commit Janzen Jackson said he is even more secure with his commitment to LSU after his official visit to Baton Rouge this weekend. He says that he is considering cancelling his scheduled official visit to Bama next weekend on Jan. 30th. I have not held out much hope that Bama would be able to sign him and now that looks to be extremely unlikely.
re: CB Janzen Jackson Update (2/01): He talks about his Bama visit
good luck to the young man at LSU! he is his own man, not following his father to UT if indeed his father gets hire.
LSU might end up with the No.#1 class when its all said and done.
we shall see...but we all know that great talent assembled doesn't mean squat if the coaching isn't there.
I am not losing any sleep at all if all these prospects on our board don't commit to Alabama, I am truly happy with our current class and believe we will be very satisfy with them years down the line!!
