Myles is clearly a good prospect, but at the moment I'm just really not expecting him to sign with Alabama. Again, he's definitely a good prospect, but where does he fit? We have extremely limited numbers right now, and with the guys still left on the board that we are expected to get, I just cannot see us having space for Myles. We signed three safeties a year ago, and with Rod Woodson still on the board, I just don't see it happening. In most years we would be fawning over this kid, but this year I imagine he will be left out in the cold.
Moreover, it should be noted that Georgia dropped him, not the other way around. He only dropped Georgia after they stopped contacting him.
With all of that said, I would think the natural choice for him would be LSU, considering that he is a New Orleans native. However, I don't know how he plays out on their board. They signed a couple of safeties last year, and it's a given that they will land Craig Loston, so I'm not sure how the room will shake out there. Maybe some of our LSU friends can give us more information.
Largely the same thing goes for Florida, who signed two five-star safeties a year ago.
I figure that Myles will end up at either LSU or Florida, if they have room for him. If not, I imagine he ends up going to Georgia Tech. Either way, though he's a good player and one that anyone would love to have, I just don't see where we have the room to bring him in.
I think Myles will end up at either Bama, Florida, GT, or LSU. I think Bama has a pretty good shot on landing him He has visitied Tuscaloosa 4 times already and he plans on officially visiting Bama on Jan. 9th. He is also friends with WR Michael Bowman and he is talking up Bama to Myles.

I don't necessarily disagree with you, mind you. I think that if we really want Myles, we have a pretty dang good shot at getting him.
At this point, though, again, the scholarships are just so tight, and unless your name is Dre Kirkpatrick, Kendall Kelly, Tana Patrick, Brandon Moore, or Reuben Randle, I just don't think you can safely say that there any firm offers out there. Once you get past those guys, we are probably down to our last spot or two in this class, and you can rest assured we will be ungodly selected.
However, coupled with the news that Craig Losten will be visiting Alabama on January 9th, perhaps we are looking at signing another safety? If so, does that mean that the staff is becoming more concerned about Woodson's academic status, or that they are looking to switch positions for one of the three safeties we signed a year ago? Either way, it's hard to see us signing five safeties in two years... you would think something would have to give somewhere.

Rod Woodson could project at linebacker with 10-15 pounds which makes him the same size as Prince Hall, Dejohn, or Higgenbotham but with more speed if this is the case then another safety might be a priority.

I gotta think he'll stay where he's at. Coach Saban is less likely to bulk up players to play other positions. We have the luxury of going after guys that are physically ready to play DB, LB, or DL already, and not having to bulk them up for two years in the weight room.

Coach Bryant, after announcing his retirement, was asked if he was dissappointed that an Alabama player had never won the Heisman Trophy while he was the coach. He said, "No!", and added, "At Alabama our players do not win Heisman Trophies, our teams win national championships."

I agree about having the luxury of not having to do this, but when a kid gets in a college weight program, 10-15 pounds is almost a natural occurrence and in that case Woodson could be a linebacker. However this was just a thought to begin with. Just trying to cover all angles of the wacky world of recruiting.
Per Rivals, he got a visit from Saban and it sounds like it went well. Myles' dad sounded happy which is always a plus. Saban told him that he was numero uno on their board for safety.

Reason: added info...
Coach certainly isn't making courtesy visits at this stage of the game, if he's visiting Myles you can bet he wants him.
