“I have my top teams and they are Alabama, LSU, Florida, Georgia Tech, Georgia, Ohio State, West Virginia, Auburn, and Purdue,” Myles confirmed. “I still have to discuss with my family which five schools will be getting my official visits though.”
Myles can relate his team’s recent defeat to LSU’s recent letdowns and close scares. The 6-foot-2, 180-head hunter claimed the Tigers’ recent struggles have not cost them in his mind, but it is something worth mentioning to the coaches.
“LSU losing to Alabama didn’t really affect my interest in them,” Myles admitted. “But that will be a question I will ask coach [Les] Miles the next time I speak to him. I’m going to ask him why they’ve been falling short in games and why does it seem like they’ve been waiting until the last minute before they try to play.”
I'd love to hear him ask that question to Les, lol.

I'd have to agree that the answer to that question would be worth hearing.........of course, we know the answer!

I would love to be there for that questioning. lol
You and me both Surf. I would really love to land this kid as our second safety in this class. On a side note he matched up in the playoffs against commit Michael Bowman and got burned. Nevertheless I still want him.

Myles would more than likely drop the F bomb somewhere in that sentence!!! Thats what I dont understand, Saban drops the S and Myles drops the F infront of kids and everyone. But Saban gets the most of the Jouralist's head hunter skills "sad"..................... But I loved Sabans comment PottyWord!!!!!!
Doesn't LSU already have commitments from a couple of impressive Safety prospects? I guess you can't have to many good players but you have to hit a point of dimishing returns eventually.

Have you seen the safety play they've had on the field? They're looking for all the help they can get .
Their defense, especially the secondary, is very poorly coached. Its not a lack of players IMO, they make a lot of mental errors which to me has to go back to coaching. If I was a defensive back interested in making it to the NFL one day I'd much rather work with Coach Saban than anybody at LSU.
Myles has dropped in-state UGA from his list and Bama is among his 6 favorites.

Darren Myles drops Georgia, names some favorites
Under Armour All-American safety Darren Myles Jr. is no longer considering the in-state Bulldogs, according to ESPN affiliate Web site TotalUGA.com.
Myles said, "They're not even in my top 10. No one is really contacting me. Georgia is a great school and has great facilities. Coach (Willie) Martinez and (Mark) Richt really slowed down the recruiting. They use to call me every day and now they e-mail or call every two weeks."
Alabama, Purdue (his father's alma mater), Florida, LSU, Michigan and Georgia Tech now appear to Myles' favorites, who added a decision should be made at the end of January after his final visit.
I wish Bama could sign 40 prospects in the 2009 class with all of the top prospects that are still seriously considering Bama and so few slots left that are available to fill.
