Here is a list of the prospects that are showing interest in Alabama and list Alabama among their favorites. Prospects with Bama offers that are 'firmly' committed to other schools are not listed. Prospects with Bama offers that do not list Bama among their favorites or show low or no interest in Alabama are not listed. Early in the fall CNS said that Alabama expects to bring in 20-22 players on scholarship for 2009 NSD recruiting class. Most analysts now believe Bama will sign somewhere around 28 players with the number of how many that will be brought into school still tbd. Alabama has two scholarships available from the 2008 class open. That will allow for two signees in this class to be backcounted to last years signing class.
Prospects with a reported scholarship offer are listed under * Scholarship Offers * with their name in bold.
Prospects that have committed to Alabama are listed under Commitments with their name and a link to their profile followed by (ALABAMA COMMITMENT).

re: 2009 Alabama Commitments and Prospects List (Updated 1/30)
Rivals is showing an official visit date for Rueben Randle on Jan 16, 2008. I'd read on here and some other sites that he might not take one since he'd been to T-town so many times. Not sure how long this has been on rivals. But seems promising none the less.

He does have that date scheduled to officially visit Alabama. Recently his father said that he may not visit LSU and Alabama since he has already been to both schools on unofficial visits several times. We will just have to wait and see where Randle actually takes his official visits.

Got cha. Well IMO, as I'm sure most of you agree, Bama is definitely the smart choice for Randle. With Julio on the other side and no other definite contenders for starting WRs next year other than maybe KK if he comes, Randle could easily step in as a starter. Plus LSwho is gonna have some major QB concerns again next year. They are as likely to complete it to the other team as they are to Randle. LOL

Thanks for putting that together.
Anyone have any idea what this Newman kid is going to do? I saw on BamaMag that he had pretty much listed every school in-state with us as a favorite. Could he walk on?

Honestly, if he wants to come to Alabama, he'll have to walk-on. We're not going to be giving out any scholarships to kickers, so that will be his only option.

It looks like Rice may be his best option right now. I agree it looks highly unlikely that he would get a Bama offer. I think his only Bama option would be if he is invited to walk-on. I don't know that would happen or if he would turn down a scholarship from Rice and others if he did get invited to walk-on at Bama.

At the U.S. Army All-American Bowl ATH Adam Hall was scheduled to make his announcement. He had five hats on the table but instead of picking a hat and announcing he removed two of the five hats from the table implying he was no longer consdiering them. He picked up the Alabama and USC hats and moved them off the table and then said that he was not ready to announce his decision. The three hats left apparently are the schools remaining in contention and they are Arizona, Oregon, and California. I think he will end up at California. I removed Hall from the prospect list.

The other hat was actually Arizona not Arizona State.

I understand not wanting to rush into a decision and wanting to wait. But why make a show of not making a decision? He could have simply told the producers during the week he wasn't going to make a decision at this time. It seemed he simply wanted to get on TV. I have a feeling that will probably be the last time he has that chance.

Yep, it was a cheap stunt. IMO he embarrassed the network and himself and, if you think about it, he disrespected USC and Bama with the; I think I'll remove their hats from the table move. I took it to mean "sorry guys its your loss I have taken you off my board" Which may be true (although I suspect it was the other way around) but why pull that kind of stunt.
I wonder if he will pull a Terrelle Pryor and decide, not to decide, on NSD?
