re: S Darren Myles Update (01/06): He is officially visiting Bama Jan. 9th

He plans on taking all of his official visits, and then making a decision.

LSU is probably the likely end result for him, but it's far from an open and shut case. We'll just have to see how he responds to his visits before we get a better idea on where he is headed.

We just hired Ron Cooper, who was recruiting him to SCar. I hope this might cement Myles.

I believe it will come down to either Bama or LSU. Myles is officially visiting Bama this weekend.

That very well could... the South Carolina people have been trying to recruit the state of Georgia very hard the past few years.

We'll just have to see how he responds to the official visits before we know anything for certain. Ideally we'd just turn Jackson and that would be our safety prospect, but the odds of that are pretty low.

It's probably due to my public school education, but it gets confusing when fans of other teams use "we" when referring to someone other than Bama. I spent about 30 seconds wondering why I didn't realize Bama hired Ron Cooper, until I saw your handle. No offense, lsufan10.

Don't know who we'll get to replace Steele but whoever it is likely won't be brought on as a defensive coordinator, we've basically already got two of those on staff (CNS & Coach Smart). As for the recruiting, Steele was known as a good recruiter but honestly we'll be more than fine without him in that regard, after all we've still got CNS!

Well Coach Smart was already the Defensive coordinator this year anyways. Steele was the Assistant head coach over the defense.

And Coach Steele asked for and was allowed to step back a bit in recruiting and it hasn't hurt us. I hope we can bring in another younger dynamic recruiter to take over as the ILB coach

The topic of who will replace CKS is for the Football board. I do not think it will impact recruiting at all.

CKS was the Bama Associate Head Coach/Head Defensive Coach. Coach Kirby Smart is the Defensive Coordinator.
