Congrats, Kerry...it's been a long road, but you've got the opportunity to do something special.
This is going to get really interesting watching CNS work his magic with the numbers game this spring and summer...I really don't see how it's possible...

This is great news... I like the way his mother put it...
Rosetta said. "When the Lord is with you, the devil can't do you no harm. We've been through so much to get Kerry to this point. He deserves it, he's worked so hard. I'm so excited, I don't know what to do."
You got to give him credit...he didn't quit. This man really wants to be at Bama!

Things went our way on one, good. Also, some have stated he can help on the OL just as much if not more than DL, thoughts?
After being out of football for so long, I think it's safe to say either position is still up for grabs for him. I think a lot of it depends on how our recruiting shakes out. If we don't land Massie, then Murphy may very well end up being our RT of the future. His strength on the OL was in run blocking I believe, and while he wasn't a liability in pass blocking, he did have some room for improvement. He's a very strong kid. Of course, if he adds a few more pounds, he wouldn't be too far off from being Cody-sized, last I heard he was tipping the scales at over 335+.

Perseverance - steady and continued study action usually over a long period of time despite difficulties or setbacks and manages to complete the task at hand.
Outstanding Job Kerry.

re: DT Kerry Murphy certified by the NCAA Clearinghouse; He is enrolled at UA
Saban is after dominating players regardless of star rankings and Kerry Murphy is a dominating player! Out of high school he was one of the top players in the state! Any one would be foolish if they did not want Kerry Murphy on the field! He may be more dominate on the line than anyone we signed except for Cody! If Saban wants a player with no recruiting stars I will say bring them on because here is a sleeper. Would you take 3 star Branden Hester?
Defensive lineman Kerry Murphy was certified by the NCAA clearinghouse and enrolled at the University of Alabama on Monday.
The product of Hoover High School spent the past year-and-a-half at Hargrave Military Academy in Virginia. He twice signed with Alabama, first in 2007.

Ok, it has been so long I have forgotten about Murphy's abilities. Where does he fit in given our current roster? Is he fast? Is he strong? Plug the middle? Rush from the end? Center? Tackle? Guard? Glad he got in, just trying to judge the impact.
Also, how was he rated out of highschool and what might the time off do to his abilities?
Re: DT Kerry Murphy certified by the NCAA Clearinghouse; He is enrolled at UA
Congrats Mr. Murphy on your hard work.
To give some quick insight BamainBoston:
Rivals has Murphy rated a 4 Star and the #4 ranked prep school player in 2008. And as mentioned above, he was one of the top players in the state out of high school. He has the ability to play both O and D line. Depending if we strike out with a recruit or two on the O line, he may end up there I'm sure. But I assume he's more likely to stay on D.
