On NSD, we will have an OFFICIAL faxed LOI received thread stickied here at the top of the board.

We will continue to update the first post with the LOIs as they come across. Please keep all comments about LOIs in that thread.

There is so much going on on NSD that we do not need our attention in thirty different threads.

We will also have individual threads already started and locked for each player that is announcing on NSD and on Tuesday, as well. We will open those threads right before they announce to keep from having to merge or delete multiple threads.

Finally, please DO NOT HIT REFRESH or F5 REPEATEDLY. It bogs down the server to where no one can post, including us, and we want our loyal TFs readers to be up-to-the-minute.

I would like to add a couple of things to what RTO said...

This year Alabama's NSD should be a good time for all of us Tide Fans that follow recruiting closely. This class has the potential to be really special and there could be a whole lot of excitement or some serious disappointment. Either way we want to stay on message with who signed with Bama and who didn't sign with Bama.

If it is not a post of substance that adds to the LOI info about the Bama signing class or any other significant events related to the Bama signing class then it can wait. After all the LOI's are all faxed in and reported on and the board settles down, then everyone can get their two cents worth in. It could get ugly for us all if the board locks up or slows to a snails pace.

Of course a post of so and so signed with Florida is OK if he was a serious Bama prospect that was deciding between Bama and other teams. And please we do not want three different threads of so and so signed with Florida. Look at the board closely to make sure before you start a thread. Also we don't need a bunch of 'simple' messages posted in that thread. The following are some examples of 'simple' messages:

Roll Tide!
OMG can you believe it
I knew he would pick Bama
I can't believe he signed with them
That is great news
Oh YEAH!
Man this offensive line is going to be unreal
Who would have thunk it?
I am as mad as a hornet
etc.

how about mods locking the entire post new thread function on the REC. board. stopping multisimilar threads? mods are usually first to post signings anyway

I couldn't agree more! Last year thanks to all of the junk coming in and people obviously refreshing their screens I had trouble getting in when I would get a second to check the site.

I'm totally for locking new threads, On that day I just want to know the names of who signed asap, I already know most everything about them. We can get opinions on them in the days following.

I especially don't want to hear people trashing someone who did not sign with us, Leave that classless stuff to the UT fans

Actually, that would be a good vote to put out to the subscribed members. Lock it or don't lock it. I'd guess most folks that visit this site would agree, we just want to know when the LOI has been signed. Quickly. When everything has settled down, we can get back to posting.

Just another suggestion. With the dedicated threads for each recruit could the time of their announcement be put in the thread title so a quick glance at the board could keep everyone on task. If it isn't too much trouble.

I will also be updating the 2009 Alabama Commitments and Prospects List thread as the LOI's are received by UA. I will change the prospects (ALABAMA COMMITMENT) with (ALABAMA SIGNEE).
