It was an orchestrated marketing sales pitch. Go back and listen. He mentions every aspect of the program all the way down to the deans. He's taking the opportunity to continue to sell the product "Alabama". He did it after the big win in 07 verses Arkansas, after the Clemson game and again after the LSU game.

He's always "at work".
Guy oughta be the President of the United States. I've never seen a stronger leader who could unify so many people for a common cause that makes everyone happy. He's simply phenomenal at what he does.

Re: My Opinion of Coach Sabans NSD Press Conference

I think we're growing on him. More and more he talks about best/favorite ever of any team or program he's been associated with. I remember when he first came the response was overwhelimg,,, even to him. Nobody can know Alabama until they are on the inside and he's now glad he came. The Bear wasn't the first great coach nor the last here. He wants to be legendary??? The measuring stick is on the wall in his office. You can't get that just anywhere.

Re: My Opinion of Coach Sabans NSD Press Conference

A young lady called into the Finebaum show to say that on Feb 4th, she pulled up in her car alongside Nick Saban's car, and that he had a big smile on his face. Apparently he was on his way to make this press conference you guys have described so well. I thought his opening remarks (part 1) were like those of a preacher who is delivering the best sermon of his pastorate. It flowed, his gestures were fluid, etc.

Man, I hope this guy likes it here! I still wonder if some people really appreciate the impact this guy is having, and how it seems to be about what Bear Bryant's impact was when he arrived here about fifty years ago. If he stays here, there is no telling what is going to happen. You put a great coach in a football school like this. . . . . . .

He simply looked very happy to be at UA.
I certainly hope this is the case. I would love to see him stay at Alabama for at least 10 years.

I watched it, and I don't think I've ever seen him more animated, enthusiastic, friendly with the media, more cooperative with the media questions, more complimentary of the university, the university administration, Mal Moore, his coaching staff, the fans...the list goes on. He simply looked very happy to be at UA, and it was obvious that he loves this recruiting class.

Fired me up.
In particular, he heaped much praise on Dr. Witt for his level of participation in the recruiting process...he's certainly one of the best presidents we've had in my lifetime.
