I saw on Crimson Confidential that Terrance Broadway was upset by the Sims commitment. I don't have the premium access. Anyone with access care to elaborate on the story. Thanks in advance.

Waited just a little too long is my guess.

Lower on our list than Sims. Sims is a MUCH better passer. Posted via Mobile Device |

I understand why he is mad...I was just wondering if anyone saw exactly what was said.

Well, from the outset it should be noted that we really aren't in the business of giving away premium info for free, and doing so could very easily land the site itself in hot water.
That said, generally speaking, Broadway obviously isn't too happy about us taking two more quarterbacks in this class, and it's pretty clear that he is not going to be a member of this class moving forward. He's currently trying to get in good with LSU, and if they will have him he'll sign with them. If they pass, he'll probably go to Ole Miss.
And I don't think it's probably fair to say that Broadway waited too long. I'm not sure he ever had a firm offer on the table from us. Clearly we had Phillip Sims higher on our board as a pure QB, and we probably had Blake Sims higher as the multi-dimensional athlete.

No disrespect to Broadway, but Phillip Sims is CLEARLY more skilled as a passer right now. Broadway strikes me as more of a project at QB.
Honestly, our other QB commit, Blake Sims, seems more skilled than Broadway at this point — both as a passer and a running threat.
An addendum: Maybe this delves into the nature of the recruiting game, but it may be possible that our coaches' attention led him to believe they thought more of him than they actually did. It sure seems like we cast the net very wide with scholarship offers. It makes me wonder how many of those are actually true offers and how many of them are means by which we keep recruits' attention throughout the process — in case they have to be a fall-back at a particular position.

Thanks for the info. I really just wanted to make sure he didn't say something distasteful about Bama or something like that, because the headline made it sound like there was some furor or something. Thanks as always.

Should be a sign to every prospect: commit early or you may end up committing elsewhere.

I know the staff has been honest with the QB offers. Even Blake Sims was told that Phillip was #1, and we were pushing for him.
After we took Blake's commitment, we were going to wait a while for Phillip to make up his mind. Obviously, we didn't have to wait long.

No doubt who our #1 priority at the QB position was and it just so happened that he didn't feel like waiting all that long to make his decision.

I Wish Terrance all the luck in the World. Seems like a great kid and prospect, and I'm glad he had such interest in our program.
Hopefully he does go to a program that can give him a great opportunity (hopefully that is not LSWho).

I wanted Broadway to be a part of this class, but considering we landed Phillip Sim, I can't say that I'm disappointed. As it looks like we're done with our QB prospects, it looks like we'll have to do without Broadway.
