NOTICE! Do Not Copy & Paste Premium Content

Share

The past couple of weeks on the board I've noticed a fairly alarming rise in both the amount of direct requests for premium content and the amount of copied and pasted premium content. Long story short, both are pretty big no-no's. Premium content by subscription-based recruiting services is protected by intellectual property laws, and illegally posting them ad nauseam can get a host site in legal trouble quickly.

Simply put, posts like "Can anyone please tell me what the main story on BOL says?" are not kosher, nor is replies that are overly specific, much less copies and paste.

I don't mean any of this to arbitrarily cut down on posting. We've got a great recruiting board here, and user participation is stronger than ever, so do not take anything I say in a negative light. As Earle is fond of saying, it's often times now what you say, but how you say it. Don't be specific in requests for premium information, and do not reply to them if you see them. Instead, it's best to pose general questions about coach's, classes, prospects, and recruiting strategies, and have responses that answer questions generally without delving into the exact specifics of premium content. Again, it's not so much what you say, but how you say it.

Re: Do Not Copy & Paste Premium Content

Dead on. Methinks this needs to be a sticky, at the top. I want to see the info as much as the next guy, but do not want to lose this board. It COULD happen if the wrong person comes across it. Besides, it usually gets out there after a while anyways. Patience...
