QB Terrance Broadway committed to Houston. He has not been a Bama prospect and there has been no mutual interest between the two since QB Phillip Sims committed.

Ah, it's possible, but it's going to be very tough.
And I think that's the biggest problem with Bolton. He's a versatile guy who could play at either wide receiver or linebacker, but honestly we have no real need at either position for a JUCO guy. We are stacked with a ton of quality players at both positions, so why spend a scholarship on a JUCO guy?
I don't know, we'll just have to see how this one plays out. Bolton is highly talented, no doubt, but usually there needs to be a defined path to immediate contribution to sign a JUCO, and we just do not have that with Bolton. I hate to say it because I want to see us get Bolton, but I honestly think we could get a kid just as good coming out of high school with double the eligibility at the same spot.
Is he versatile enough to play defensive end or at least rush the passer from his linebacker position? Don't know why but i always liked him. I thought that he sat out one year and still had 3 years of eligibility left.

Bolton was initially recruited to Bama as a WR. In JUCO he has blossomed as a LB and he is listed as an athlete because he is talented enough to play on both offense and defense. Bolton is sitting out this year in JUCO and he will have 3 years to play 3. In my opinion he has the potential to be a very good Jack LB or if not a pash rusher than at least he should fit in as a LB if he does sign with Bama in this class. It is really starting to look like there will not be a receiver spot left open for him in this class.
Below is a link to a thread about pass rushing prospects if you want to join in on that discussion.

I was a bit shocked by this one. However, he'll certainly have a chance to be in a wide open offense for the Cougars. It will definitely beat becoming a broken QB behind Mississippi State's atrocious offensive line.

Jeff Luc quoted as saying,"I'm still considering Florida, Florida State, Georgia and LSU. And maybe some other schools. I don't know. I just want to take my time."
Not sure what exactly this means, but looks like Bama's already slim shot with Luc as become virtually nonexistent.

Hey Surf was just wondering if you could lay out the last 8 that BAMA has as a priority... I have my own list of who I want to see but with the last 8 BAMA must be very cautious and have room for some of the bigger names if we happen to land them.

I really don't have a list of the last 8 eight prospects and their priority. I really can only venture a guess as to a top eight but it is a long way until NSD and a whole lot will happen between now and them.
If you are assuming that Bama has 18 commits like Rivals.com right now, which I do, and that Bama will sign 8 more then that would be a total of 26 in the 2010 class. If you are assuming that both Devonta Bolton and Brandon Lewis are already committed to Bama like Scout.com then the total number is 20 right now and Bama will sign eight more then that would be a total of of 28.
I don't think Bama will take both Bolton and Lewis and maybe not even either one of them. That is just my opinion. The particulars of that situation will have to work itself out between now and NSD. I also don't think Bama will sign 28 in the 2010 class. I am thinking it will be at the most 25 but that is just an opinion based on the numbers crunch going on right now for the 2009 class coming in. Also there are not a whole lot of scholarship seniors on the team this year that will be leaving to make room for the 2010 class.
I will list what I think could be the final seven for a total of 25 and then throw in what I think could be an eighth signee even though I would not consider him likely at this point. This is just who in my opinion may end up signing with Bama not necessarily a priority list.
1. TE Harrison Jones
2. OT Damien Robinson
3. ATH/WR Keenan Allen
4. ATH/WR DeMarco Cobbs
5. ATH/DE Victor Beasley
6. OT James Stone
7. LB C.J. Mosley
8. LB Ladarius Owens
I am having a hard time with my own list because I do not have a likely DT prospect on it. But that is the way I see it right now. Hopefully some others will add their opinions.

i agree with CS's list. i actually think we get Owens as long as he waits till' after the season to decide. but i was wondering surf, do you think that we will sign one more CB, even if we have to go outside Fulton? i know others were saying we might...

Right now the way I see it is Bama has two cornerbacks and two safties already committed. If Bama does not get Fulton then I doubt they will go after another CB. I think LB is a bigger priority with no LB commits thusfar. jmofwiw

When Keenan Allen commits it may tip the scales in our favor for Gabe King. We are second right now behind Cal and gaining ground. Wouldn't be the least bit surprised if he signs with Bama.

Yeah, there seem to be some rumblings regarding King. I'd love to see us get him, he has a huge frame and plenty of athleticism to go with it.
