Well it ain't like LSU hasn't got a herd of talent at RB already, this is just another one in the stable. Guess our LBs better tighten thier chinstraps those are going to be some good games.

Looks like the LSU has got word that the recruiting jugernaut on the plains is going to be scooping up Seastrunk. Poor kid.

re: RB Storm Johnson withdraws disputed LSU commitment

I wouldn't dare consider Seastrunk an LSU lock, but if he goes elsewhere, it won't be because of this commit. Seastrunk and Storm Johnson are polar opposites with regards to style of RB. Storm Johnson is more like Micheal Ford...who signed with LSU this past February. Lache is the only speed/slash type back LSU would potentially sign.

I am impressed with Storm from what I can tell/see. Amazing that a 16 year old has arms like this kid. He's not a Trent Richardson look alike by any stretch, but I saw a pic of him running the ball last season, (when he had JUST turned 16), and he already had a college RB body. Guns for a 16 yr old. I think this is a good pick up for LSU.

One way or the other, though, make no mistake about it, Johnson is a talented kid and he should be a good player for LSU. It's a good pick-up for them. We didn't really recruit him, but it sure as hell wasn't because of a lack of talent. And besides, how can you not like a kid named Storm? Even Verne couldn't butcher that one...
And Starm takes the handoff

re: RB Storm Johnson withdraws disputed LSU commitment

So try this oddity on for size...

Johnson was supposed to commit to LSU yesterday on his official visit. It was his birthday, he was going to meet Miles, etc., even Dandy Don said it was supposed to be yesterday. Only one problem... Johnson still hasn't committed, and to the best of my knowledge he is back in Georgia.

This one is really odd. Maybe he's just waiting just to wait, or maybe there really is some fire behind all of this smoke and he doesn't have a commitable offer yet. I don't know, it just sounds really weird. He obviously loves him some LSU, and he's a fine player so I don't know why LSU wouldn't want him in return.

Maybe it's much ado about nothing, I don't know. I'm not trying to get at anything with this one, it's just striking everyone as extremely odd. Seastrunk was in Baton Rouge today, maybe that has something to do with it? Who really knows, though?

re: RB Storm Johnson withdraws disputed LSU commitment

I was wondering what the deal was myself. Seems like he was already supposed to have committed to LSU a couple weeks ago.

Never underestimate the great Mr. Liptwist!

Can you imagine how clever he will believe he is when he refers to the RBs at LSU as "Thunder and Lighting" with Storm?

That's assuming he gets the name right. More than likely he'll call him Stram, Lorne, or some other fictitious name.

re: RB Storm Johnson withdraws disputed LSU commitment

I've been trying to do some reading about this one and talk to some of my LSU friends, and right now no one really knows what to make of this one. For the record, Johnson is presumably back in Georgia now, and has still not committed to LSU.

It's all speculation, but right now the most probably "true" theory on this one is the following... LSU got a five-star tailback last year in Mike Ford, and the 2011 class features two very good tailback prospects in the state of Louisiana that LSU wants. With that in mind, LSU is only going to take one tailback in this class, and they are holding out there for Lache Seastrunk, hence no firm offer for Storm Johnson as of right now.

Again, that's all speculation, and it may be completely wrong. However, I will say that is probably the most credible explanation floating around right now. Hopefully we'll hear some more about what's going on here soon, this is just a bunch of strange stuff.

re: RB Storm Johnson withdraws disputed LSU commitment

A lot of the LSU boards are saying, that according to Johnson's head coach, he tried to commit to LSU, but the coaching staff wouldn't take him right now. Interesting if true. I guess they like their chances with Lache Seastrunk.

re: RB Storm Johnson withdraws disputed LSU commitment

Understand I have no inside scoop or anything, but this is what I'm hearing.
-
Yes, Lache and Storm were both at LSU over the weekend, and no, Storm didn't commit. Some are saying he was asked to delay for the time being. I have no idea if it has anything to do with Lache Seastrunk. I seriously doubt it does. He is a different style back than either Ford of Storm Johnson. They are more bruisers, and he (Seastrunk) is a larger version of Trindon Holliday...at least in his 40 time. Not a 9.98 100 meter guy, but a 4.3 40 yd guy.
-
I was under the impression Storm was to announce this past weekend. It was first reported a couple of weeks ago, and the reason was given that he hadn't committed yet because he wanted to commit to Miles, and Miles was in FL. Well, Miles has been back a week or more now, and Storm was allegedly committing this past weekend. Hope they didn't Montrell Conner or DeAngelo Benton him.
