Michigan State, Oklahoma and Ohio State were his other finalists. Among many others were Penn State, Tennessee, Florida State, UCLA and Kentucky.
"I have committed to LSU," the 5-foot-11, 210-pound Johnson told The Times-Picayune. "It's just a great place for me. I like the surroundings. I like the coaching staff. I like everything about it. I'm lucky to be a Tiger. I love LSU."
"Me and my parents talked," he added. "We looked at the top five schools I liked. We looked at what those schools could do to benefit me. We looked at the (academics), the programs and even the city they were in. We decided that LSU was the best place for me."
Johnson rushed for 1,300 yards and 21 touchdowns as a junior while playing for Buford, Ga.
At the Atlanta Nike Combine, he posted an electronically-timed 4.54 40-yard dash, 4.26 20-yard shuttle, 32.9-inch vertical and 102.3 SPARQ.

re: RB Storm Johnson withdraws disputed LSU commitment
I think we had some contact early on with Johnson, but we never really recruited him. We got Fowler and that was pretty much the end of it for us, and we weren't really looking to add another tailback.
One way or the other, though, make no mistake about it, Johnson is a talented kid and he should be a good player for LSU. It's a good pick-up for them. We didn't really recruit him, but it sure as hell wasn't because of a lack of talent. And besides, how can you not like a kid named Storm? Even Verne couldn't butcher that one...
I do wonder, though, what this means for their chances with Seastrunk. I'm sure they would take both, but if this kid is going to stick at tailback, it's not exactly a ringing endorsement of their standing with him. I still figure he ends up at LSU with Reed, but it does make you wonder a tad.

I don't think it means much as in the way of their pursuit of another RB. Storm is a big bruising back while Seadtrunk is more of a cut-back slasher.
two different styles that can compliment each other on the field of play.
I do think that Texas's chance of landing him just went up.
I am sure aubarn fans are believing more and more that LS will be coming to the plains now.
re: RB Storm Johnson withdraws disputed LSU commitment
5-11 and 210 lbs is a great build for a between-the-tackles runner, and an electronically-timed 4.54 40-yard dash is nothing to sneeze at. Sounds like a complete back, and an excellent pickup for LSU.

I'm fine with Fowler...
But man "Storm Johnson" is just an awesome name!

could we have landed this kid had we recruited him (harder)?
Who knows, but the fact of the matter is we didn't need to recruit him. RB is just not a priority for us in this class.
