i think it has to be the former. i don't think CNS would have taken Belue's commitment knowing that he could tell Peters to pull the trigger at any given moment.

It's possible after seeing Belue's impressive camp performances that the staff had him ahead of Peters on the board. I'm not saying that's the case, but it's certainly a possibility IMHO.

this is pretty much what i meant to imply. all things being equal, i don't think CNS would have offered Belue knowing he had Garry Peters in his back pocket.
