There is a big difference in rankings between Rivals and Scout and Emfingers! I did not find him ranked on Rivals and found him ranked as a 3 star on Scout! I would say he is probably closer to Emfingers ranking if Saban wants him! He could be another Demeco Ryans! With a Saban offer I hope we get him! He will probably move to at least a 4 star his senior season!
Victor Beasley is a beast. He will most certainly rise as the process goes on. He is 6'5 220 and runs a 4.4. He is most likely being recruited for outside linebacker by CNS but could play multiple positions including WR. We definitely want this kid and more than likely we will get him. He loves Bama and even told Andrew Bone before the season his first offer ever came in all he wanted was an offer from Alabama. He camped at UA and blew the staff away with his ability and got offered immediately and almost committed on the spot but he wants to wait just to make sure he is making the right choice, which I'm sure CNS encouraged him to do just that. And as far as Emfinger's ranking goes, Beasley is a good, but he is not that good IMO. Emfinger has a "unique" ranking system, you're much better off looking at Rivals' list. Beasley will definitely rise as time goes on but he will NEVER be that high on Scout or Rivals. RTR.

JMHO but I just don't see Beasley as the #2 prospect in the nation, certainly not now anyway.
I am curious as to just how bad CNS and his assistants want Beasley. I'm not doubting they like him a lot, but I wonder how CNS rates Beasley in the pecking order with the recruits he is going after. Maybe RTO, CS or BET can elaborate on this. I am certainly curious to know.
I'm not questioning Beasley being an excellent prospect and if CNS wants him that good enough for me. I just don't see him as the #2 prospect in the nation.

Anyways, good to see Max is healthier and back on the job
What was wrong with Emfinger?

Max has always been heavily influenced by the # of high profile schools who offer a player which can often hold more meaning than what Rivals or Scout has to offer . He just lacks the resources to be as thorough or remain up to speed on as many prospects as the major services .

Bryan , Max had major heart surgery about 10 months ago . It was serious enough that one Dr. left the operating room during the procedure to tell his wife that there might not be any hope of Max making it through the procedure or the end of the day - much less recovering . Fortunately he's bounced back as well as could've ever been expected . That's why he did not hold his annual All-Star game last year . There had been some great prospects scheduled to participate too . I'm guessing the game will be back this year .

Emfinger's recruiting is like LCN said a little challenged as far as resources or sources go. He does however do a good job with what he has at his disposal and he does get out and see the prospects. He has had his share of hits and misses over the years as far as his evaluations and talent predictions go. Some of his gems have turned out to be lumps of coal.
Apparently he is a big fan of Victor Beasley and he has him listed # 1 in his 2010 ALL-AMERICAN BOWL GAME CLASSIC SUPER SIXTY PLAYERS.

Wow, I had no idea.
Thanks for the update LCN.

From the information I have been able to gather it appears that, as far as OLB's go, Victor Beasley is a priority. I believe Ladarius Owens was the priority but with Beasley's camp performance and the fact that Owens' is more than likely going to end up at AU no matter what, the staff has made Beasley the priority.

I agree with AT, I believe Beasley is high on our board and our staff would likely love a commitment from him. The guy has incredible potential IMO, with his athleticism along with his frame he could really develop into a top flight player on the next level.
As for where Max rates him, I'd say it's very likely a bit generous.
