Drew Phillips from Boaz committed to BYU

Share

I had a friend have me look up Drew Phillips from Boaz on Youtube. Rivals lists him a 6-0 185 4.54/40. I notice no SEC schools are listed on his Rivals page. He looks pretty solid from his clips on Youtube but we know everyone can look great on a highlight reel. Anyone know anything about him?

All I know is that he is not an Alabama prospect.

Phillips commited to BYU. Seems like a great opportunity for him. BYU seems to be putting together one of their best ever signing-classes this year. Note, he is not Mormon.

On Tuesday — the first day of classes for his senior year — Phillips made a decision about his future, ending any suspense about his recruiting by verbally committing to Brigham Young.

The 6-foot, 174-pound Phillips also received scholarship offers from Wyoming, Idaho, SMU, Central Michigan, Louisiana Tech, Samford and Tennessee-Martin.

Other schools who expressed interest in him were Illinois, Louisville, Birmingham-Southern, Jacksonville State, Memphis, Central Florida, Mississippi State, Florida State, Stanford, North Alabama, UAB, Troy, Utah and The Citadel.

Good luck to him at BYU, probably the strongest school he could have chosen among his offers.
