Dequan visited Auburn during their happy big days (or whatever they called it) weekend and has apparently eliminated them.
If he is serious about us and we about him, he may want to make a move quick. He went to HS in GA, so his infatuation with USM may not be overwhelming. Maybe he is going to be a borderline academic qualifier-- thus his interest in them.
Are we really interested in taking a JUCO CB? I didn't think we were in THAT bad of shape at the position... Especially with Phelon Jones coming in next year...

The staff was after Jakar Hamilton, a JUCO safety, pretty hard before he committed to Georgia. So, I would think that the possibility exits for us to really want Menzie. I'm thinking he may be seen as a safety.

Coach Bryant, after announcing his retirement, was asked if he was dissappointed that an Alabama player had never won the Heisman Trophy while he was the coach. He said, "No!", and added, "At Alabama our players do not win Heisman Trophies, our teams win national championships."

True, but I think that gives more credence to the notion that we will take another safety prospect than anything else, and if that is the case I do not see any reason whatsoever why we would take a JUCO kid like Menzie instead of taking Keenan Allen.
I might be wrong, but I'd be surprised if this young man ended up at 'Bama.

Unless the staff views him as an instant impact (i.e. starter) kind of guy I agree.

If he were being looked at as a safety, I could understand a little easier. We have a need for a Free Safety-type player.

I may be wrong but I'm pretty sure Phelon Jones has to sit out this coming season.
By next year, I meant NEXT year, not this coming. Phelon will be in the class of 2010, as would Menzie

if saban offered then he has potential. We need more bodies at CB then you might think. We may be getting high in numbers at that position but none of the young guys have proven a thing yet. I'd like to see us sign another 2 CB's
