EDIT: BOL is reporting that Anthony Orr appears in the media guide with the signees but does not appear on the roster. Several possibilities could explain it - could be a simple mistake, or a grayshirt, an academic snag, etc.

We should here something more specific pretty soon. In my opinion it is most likely a simple mistake but any of the possibilities listed by BOL could be a possibility.

According to the below link, Orr might have other plans.

What other plans does Anthony Orr have? I sure didn't get any clues or hints about that from reading that article. That is a very confusing and incomplete report especially the info or should lack of info on the Anthony Orr situation.

After reading that I am about as clear as mud as to what is going on with Orr. That is simply confusing starting with the title, 'Another Tide Signee Won’t Report' which is not explained in the story, to the word 'soter' apparently being a mistype of the word roster.

The Orr situation could be any number of things including a mistake on the roster. We will just have to wait and see what comes out between now and the start of Falll practices on Aug. 5th. I am sure CNS will get the question at media days, probably from Ian 'The Rappper' Rapoport.

Well now we know what the situation is with Anthony Orr.

BamaOnLine.com - Orr to defer enrollment
Quote:
Not much slips through the cracks during the summer when it comes to Alabama football roster news, but when the UA media guide was released on Wednesday at the Wynfrey Hotel in Hoover, Ala., there was a somewhat conspicuous absence: Incoming freshman defensive end Anthony Orr was listed in the guide as a signee but was not listed on the team roster.

As it turns out, Orr plans to take a "grayshirt", meaning he will defer his enrollment at the Capstone to January of 2010, according to a source close to his recruitment. He is academically qualified, so the typical summertime snag for recruits - grades - isn't the culprit here.
