C.J. Uzomah was offered as an athlete and could play a few different positions. He is very high on Bama.
I'm really hoping we can land Uzomah in the 2011 class. I would think that having two former teammates on the Alabama roster would go a long way to being able to do so.

Sounds like a backup/GS plan to me . There were a couple of QB's , one in state , who were looked at in a similar manner last year . That said , I think this kid is a pretty legitimate D1 prospect . We'll see . . . .

I wonder if the Struass offer has anything to do with T. Broadway committing to Houston recently. Maybe the plan the whole time was to take 2 QBs in this class...and Strauss is the next guy in line behind Broadway.

I know it seems like we backed off Broadway a good bit (or his interest in us declined significantly after P. Simms committed)...but it's just a thought...
Especially when considering P.Simms was told if he committed , he'd be the only QB signed . I think that's why this is clearly GS offer for Strauss and I don't think Broadway would've ever had any interest in taking that route .

Still kind of a puzzle to me. You have to find the pieces that fit but seems strange this offer. Someone feels good about this kid...

As BET stated Strauss would likely come in as a greyshirt because he has the potential to mature into a good QB and it will be tough to get a highly recruited QB in the 2011 class. He doesn't really fit any other position.

C.J. Uzomah was offered as an athlete and could play a few different positions. He is very high on Bama.
so, in other words, he probably won't play QB in college, right? and if we land Strauss, will he count against the 28 we are allowed to sign this year? regardless, i hope we get him. anytime CJM has a gut feeling, i'm going with it.
