The Birmingham News' 2009 Super Seniors: # 8 RB Corey Grant

Share

Birmingham News Super Seniors: Opelika running back Corey Grant catches Bama's eye - al.com
Quote:
Corey Grant's stock has exploded since the end of his junior season. Back then, he had the intense interest of only UAB and Troy. Now, the No. 8 prospect on The Birmingham News' Super Seniors list is an Alabama commitment after saying no to Auburn and Florida last month.

What changed?

The same thing that got Ike Grant's attention: Game films.

"Corey's speed has always been there," first-year Opelika coach Brian Blackmon said. "What people began noticing is that Corey's a football player, and a good one. He sees the field, he can run like a deer and he has the strength to break tackles."

Speed is what we need. I hope he fits in the slot for us and with the running back experience he will bring a little tough attitude to go with it.

This is typical B'ham news drivel. Placing Grant at #8 means they are going to put aub commit's Richardson and Holland higher.

Call me "arrogant" but this just doesn't sit well with me.

No doubt Grant should be higher than #8, but well it's the B'ham News AKA cat box liner.

LOL! Well now I see that Jarrick Williams is #7.. AMAZING!! This B'ham news writer Jeff Sentell is a raving lunatic to say the least.

Seriously, I mean wow!!! Makes you wonder if they're just throwing darts at pictures to decide the order. Laughable!

I just got a good feeling about Corey Grant and what he brings to Bama. I've had a similar feeling with regards to Kevin Norwood. I think he's gonna be pretty good for us this year.
