The Birmingham News' 2009 Super Seniors: # 7 S Jarrick Williams

Share

Birmingham News Super Seniors: Blount High's Jarrick Williams 'does it all' on gridiron - al.com
Quote:
Williams had offers from Alabama and LSU the summer before his sophomore season. Now he's working into the conversation of Blount all-time greats that include names such as Auburn quarterback Dameyune Craig and Alabama tailback Sherman Williams.

"He's as explosive on the offensive side as he is on defense," Sigler said. "He's going to make a play at receiver because not many kids can run and jump with him. Put the ball in his hands and he will make plays."
I completely disagree with this ranking. How in the world is Jarrick Williams ranked as low as # 7? The article even says, 'His coaches say he had an offer from almost every big-time program except Ohio State.'

If Jeremy Richardson gets ranked in their top 6 this is just plain wrong. Also that would mean one of the six prospects below will be left off their Super Seniors list.

DeMarcus Milliner
C.J. Mosley
Craig Sanders
Nick Perry
Jalston Fowler *
LaDarius Owens

* It probably will be Jalston Fowler since he is not playing his senior year.

Don't see how Jarrick isn't top 3 in-state.

The News has to toss its AU subscribers a bone with Richardson, who looks to be a fine prospect.

Well I actually commented on this ridiculous ranking (William's) on the Grant thread. But this is exactly what I was referring to as far as Jeff Sentell's bizarre ranking method.
Typical B'ham News-bush league fish wrapper crap..

Thank you, I needed a laugh on a Monday, and I agree with your assessment. I can't believe folks get paid to put that out.

Historically the Birmingham news has given a little boost to prospects closer to Birmingham. The Mobile paper does the same so it kind of balances out. I would be willing to wager if Williams played for Spain Park he would be in the top 3, JMO.

Richardson will no doubt be in their top 6 despite the fact he doesn't legitimately belong there. Just more nonsense from the sham that is the B'ham News.
