That would mean Nick Perry won't be on the list. Perry is better than Sam Gibson (his own teammate) who was on the list. A major factor to me that would put Nick ahead of Sam is the fact that Sam plays qb and is supposed to be changed to the same position Nick plays. Makes no sense to me.
I can not believe that Nick Perry did not make the list but Kenneth Carter and Sam Gibson did.

Among other things. The list is simply laughable. They have no clue...........and it's obvious.

Re: The Birmingham News' 2009 Super Seniors: # 3 WR Jeremy Richardson
Just got back from the Walker-Springville game. It's been a good while since I've been to a high school game, and I'm not a scout.... but it's got to be a down year in the state if this kid is #3. He had one nice catch and run, a couple of short receptions, at least one drop, and I wasn't impressed by his run blocking.
I thought Walker's defense did a good job against Springville despite losing 14-6. Walker's QB was everybody's offense. A long TD run, a pick-six, and another pick (actually by Richardson, a present in the flat) down to Walker's 5 or 6. He was also burned badly on a long pass route, but our reciever was overthrown by a step or two.
I'm not saying he's not good, but #3 in the state? Anyway, figured I'd add my two cents, since I was at a game with someone on the list.

Watched Cullman destroy Springville last Thursday night. If Richardson is the #3 prospect in Alabama, I'm an astronaut. He had one catch against our first team for 2 yards and another vs the jv's for 14. Cullman has much better receivers in my opinion. Cullman jumped out to a 20-0 lead in the 1st qtr. and he appeared to loose interest in the game. It is easy to see why Bama backed off. It's a good example of why the star ratings should be taken with a grain of salt.

The rating services certainly are not fool proof, but neither is the NFL Draft. I just think it stands out that the program to finish with the top ranked recruiting class, per Rivals, has went on to win a national title in those particular kids' college career.
As for Richardson, I never understood the pub either. His offer list wasn't that impressive and plenty of people have talked about his lack of consistency

If Richardson is the #3 prospect in Alabama you are an austronaut and I'm the #2 recruit in the state of Alabama. And I can assure you I'm not the #2 in state recruit.

Sorry to correct you sir, but it was called Odenville many years ago. My high school use to play them.

I wish Richardson all the best and I feel really bad about his family situation but I strongly disagree with him being ranked the # 3 prospect.
The article does not say a whole lot about football. Doug Segrest needs to do a little better research. There is no such place as Odenville High School. I am pretty sure it has always been called St. Clair County HS.

I didn't know St. Clair County High used to be Odenville High. I did know it was in Odenville
It's always been called St. Clair County High School in my lifetime, now before that I can't say.

The Birmingham News may be trying to make sure the barners are getting some of the top rated instate recruits to cut down on the suicide rate in Lee County after this season.

I have lived in East Birmingham, Branchville, and Odenville over the years and I never remember it being called Odenville HS. In any event it is not called Odenville HS now days or anytime in the recent past when that article was written.
