Coach Meyer told me, 'Next time Kiffin calls, tell him I said hello'.” Patton laughed at the awkwardness of the situation. Although out of state schools have been on him, LSU has been in contact too, the in-state schools in Alabama have shied away it seems. Auburn did more than that. “Alabama, I haven't heard from them in a while,” Patton said. “Auburn stopped fooling with me. When they came down here there was a big mess. Before I committed, I talked to the coach that recruited down here and he was basically talking trash to me. They told me they have two receivers already committed and they have a third that was committing sometime this week. I didn't worry about it and told my coach...and the (Auburn) assistant and my coach got into it. That assistant said some crazy stuff and my coach doesn't play. I don't talk to them and they don't send any mail or anything.”

Interesting story. It just shows you how or staff recruits compared to the staffs at the Barn and UT. It shows that Saban and Meyer are light-years ahead of them in recruiting, and they know it. These types of recruiting tactics will not go over well with most coaches and parents and eventually AU and UT will reap what they sow.

BTW, I don't care for Urban Meyer much but that comment to tell Kiffin he said "hello" well I don't care who you are that's funny right there.

It shouldn't be hard to find out who that Auburn coach was that got into it with the high school coach. Who recruits Mobile for AU?

Once a kid commits and makes it clear that he doesn't want to shop around, the best thing that another head coach can do is tell the recruit that he respects his decision and wishes him well. Show the kids respect. They deserve it...

Even if he is committed to Florida it's good to see a young man with the wherewithall to stick to his guns.

I would have loved to see him at Alabama, especially because he's from Mobile, but he fits the Florida offense better. It makes me smile to see him giving Tennessee and Auburn the cold shoulder. I wish Soloman the best of luck at Florida, except for every December in Atlanta.
