Twelve predictions for ESPNU 150 prospects

Here are a dozen projections, predictions and educated opinions about Southeastern prospects in the ESPNU 150. Some are bold, some are not so bold and some could have come straight from the bearded mouth of Captain Obvious.
• Athlete Keenan Allen (Greensboro, N.C./Northern Guilford) will likely stay close to home and sign with Alabama. The Crimson Tide have had the lead for a long time and though there is a lot of appeal to joining his friends and teammates at Oregon, the distance will be the ultimate deciding factor. Allen is a huge catch for whichever school signs him.

Allen will likely commit to BAMA fairly soon now. I think after he comes on his OV it will just be a matter of weeks. RTR
There seems to be some chatter about Gabe King following him to Tuscaloosa too.

Coach Bryant, after announcing his retirement, was asked if he was dissappointed that an Alabama player had never won the Heisman Trophy while he was the coach. He said, "No!", and added, "At Alabama our players do not win Heisman Trophies, our teams win national championships."
I would like to hear more of this particular chatter, please.
Gabe apparently wasn't the least bit impressed by Cal's dismantling by Oregon. Cal had been the favorite for a while but it appears it may be down to Oregon-Bama now but you have to believe Oregon has the inside track especially since Gabe recently moved to Eugene.

Ducks join Bears at the top for Gabe King ESPNU 150 defensive end Gabe King, who recently made a cross-country transfer to South Eugene, Ore., now has co-leaders.
It's Oregon and Cal tied at the top," King told ESPN affiliate Web site DuckTerritory.com. "Alabama is right behind them."

When Keenan Allen joins the fold soon, I think our chances go way up with Gabe King. I know he's attending Eugene High School, but it wouldn't be the first time a kid moved to a high school near one program only to sign with another program.

This is very true. There are still some reputable people who say when Keenan Allen commits to Bama it will ultimately get us King as well. Some have added that the staff may be aware of this which was another reason Sanders de-commited.

Yeah, I'd feel much better if he didn't decide to move a couple thousand miles from N.C. to Eugene, Ore. One would think that would be a dead giveaway, but I'm not the one with the sources.
Allen's announcment may be coming a little sooner than I even thought. Allen's decision has been made and he is Bama bound 100%. He might still wait to announce after his OV but I'm not going to be surprised when he goes ahead and gets it over with.
