It won't affect our recruiting.

Thoughts? I think this is a real possibility, they don't play anyone.
Ok, I'll bite ... here's Auburn's sked for the rest of the year ...
Oct. 10 at Arkansas TBA
Oct. 17 Kentucky TBA
Oct. 24 at LSU 7:00pm
Oct. 31 Ole Miss TBA
Nov. 7 Furman TBA
Nov. 14 at Georgia TBA
Nov. 27 Alabama 1:30pm
I give AU props for what they've done thus far, but knowing how college football goes, they can possibly lose the rest of the games on their schedule. The only "given" game left on the schedule is Furman. There's no way imo that they will go 11-1.
BUT at the end of the day ... it doesn't matter what Auburn does, (whither they go 5-7 or 11-1, or 12-0) it will have no effect on our recruiting ... Period.
Recruiting is not just based on recruiting local talent, it's based on the type of programs, the coaches, the school, ect.

We recruit mostly the same players it would have to.
First of all Bama has almost completed its recruiting. Secondly Bama gets almost anyone it wants head to head. Owens is the only recruit that Bama wanted that AU has gotten and he was a legacy. Please don't bring up Sanders.
Bama's recruiting is essentially on a different level than AU's.
Btw, you are clueless if you think AU is going 11-1; just as clueless as your remark that you would rather be in AU's shoes as far as recruiting.

Based on their remaining schedule, I see at least 4 games in which there is a better then 50% chance of Auburn losing (Alabama, GA, Kentucky and Arkansas) and two other games in which that percentage is higher (Ole Miss and LSU). IMO, Auburn going 11-1 is less then 5% chance of happening.
With that said, IF Auburn does go to 11-1, I doubt it make too much impact. There is a difference between going 11-1 in a season while you are trying to get back to respectibility, and going 11-1 or 12-0 while staying in the hunt for the National Championship. All it does it helps Auburn lands a few more outside of the top 10 state prospects.

They will have four, maybe five losses this season. Alabama is pretty much done with recruiting, and doesn't have anyone left on the board that has Auburn among their favorites, save for C.J. Moseley. If, and that's a big if, Auburn was to go 10-2 or 11-1, the impact would be on the 2011 class, not this one. Even then, Alabama is off to a hot start for the 2011 class. That's not even throwing into consideration that Alabama could very well be in another BCS bowl, if not the BCS National Championship. I don't think it takes a genius to see that offsets any positives that Auburn could muster.

Could Grant be swayed by a 7-5 record ? He's the only prospect I would think could possibly end up back in play . Other than that , ..... *crickets*

Re: If Auburn is 11-1 and goes to a BCS bowl, how will it affect Alabama's recruiting
Dude, if that happens then we're done. No way we keep a commit if AU wants them. I'd estimate that they'll steal 75%-80% of our recruits, and the only reason they won't steal them all is that they'll run out of room because of all the "high character" kids they already have on board. And I shudder to think what kind of commits we'll get in the coming years once AU gets all of the state's top players. I imagine we'll be getting the leftovers that have offers from UAB and Fl. Atl. and sure we'll find some "diamonds in the rough" but the future will look pretty bleak. Honestly we'll probably just do better if we save face and disband our football team now and say that it was because of the bad economy.
Ok, all sarcasm aside, IF that happens, and that's a humongous if, we have nothing at all to worry about. Look, AU's a legit D-I team that people recognize and they aren't always going to get their clock cleaned in recruiting, no matter what they do on the field. Their recruiting has been bound to improve because they had nowhere to go but up since Tubberville basically gave up his last 2 years there. They'll get some good recruits and some will be kids we wanted. But there is no doubt that we are a recruiting juggernaut and we'll get most of the in-state kids we want and plenty of out of state blue chippers as well. If you're really worried about AU actually doing some decent recruiting now, I don't know what to tell you.
Honestly some of your posts are a bit suspect to me, but I'll just concede that you're an abnormally paranoid Bama fan that must be the victim of barners crowing around you 24 hours a day (even in your sleep). I guess it seems likely.
Re: If Auburn is 11-1 and goes to a BCS bowl, how will it affect Alabama's recruiting
We out recruited Auburn when we had 7-6 record and lost to ULM. What makes you think that an 11-1 record by AU could affect our recruiting? I assume we will finish 12-0 in the regular season anyway so I don't see a problem. Let them go 11-1, we all know who the 1 loss will be to. That's all that matters. We will be in the SEC championship and a BCS bowl while Auburn will play in the Cotton or the Chick-Fil-A Bowl if they go 11-1.
