West Chester (Ohio) Lakota West linebacker Jordan Hicks has been ranked as the nation's No. 1 outside linebacker for quite some time, and his play as a senior has resulted in him being moved up to a five-star prospect - No. 12 overall.
Hicks, who was previously ranked 21st, made the move up after wowing Rivals.com analyst Greg Ladky in an in-person evaluation earlier this season.
"He made one of the best defensive plays I have ever seen by blitzing and tipping a screen pass, making the interception and nearly scoring a touchdown," Ladky said. "Hicks has a tremendous ability to hunt down the ballcarrier and finish plays with hard tackles. He also has great change-of-direction skills and is a very fluid athlete playing the linebacker spot."
It's plays like that have attracted scholarship offers from the top programs in the nation. His final list is a who's who of college football today - Alabama, Florida, Ohio State, Texas and USC - and he has already taken official visits to Ohio State and Texas.
Also making the move up to a five-star prospect is Calhoun, Ga., receiver and Georgia commitment Da'Rick Rogers. The 6-foot-3, 206-pounder was outstanding in early season games, and Rivals.com analysts believe Rogers could have an A.J. Green-type impact at the next level for the Dawgs.
"Rogers possesses excellent body control with strong hands that allow him to catch balls when covered," Every said. "Rogers also has tremendous size and strength, which are used to break tackles in the open field. He will be able to outmuscle and use his deceptive speed to beat most defensive backs."

Hicks changed his visit to BAMA from the SC game to the TN game. So Hicks and Dixon (prospects) will be visiting with Shepherd and Alfy (commits). We need a great game when we play TN if we can sway Hicks and Dixon to commit this class would be out of this universe!!! I think with Hicks being an OLB and Dixon a DB our defense suits both of them very well.
Sims has lit it up (save 1 game), but they've actually gone more to a balanced attack as a team and I think his numbers aren't on pace to be what they've been in the past when they were a bit more pass happy. Still, I think this guy has the capabilities to come in and be one of those early impact guys. He obviously has the physical capabilities, but he seems to pick up on things so quickly and is actually advanced for his age.
I think of the 3 top QBs (per Rivals) when all star season rolls around Phillip will shine
No big deal to me, if Coach Saban wants him, I want him.
I wasn't trying to downplay Phillip, only pointing out that the rankings may be flawed somewhat. People always have complaints about the system though.
This QB class is not very highly thought of. The highest rated QB isn't even one of the top 50 prospects in the country?
Earlier this year I read where a recruiting analyst said this years senior class of QB's was the worst crop of QB's he's seen in his 20 years in the recruiting business. I honestly don't remember who it was that said this or where I read it. It's been a while back that I read this.

I'm no expert but I'd have to disagree. To me it's the RB class that is more down than the QB class. JMHO.
