Per Rivals/TI...apparently we weren't pushing for his commitment and are full at WR with the expected commitment of a certain 5 star WR/S from North Carolina. Posted via Mobile Device
Re: JUCO WR Kenbrell Thompkins commits to Tennessee
I still wish he had gone somewhere else though. However it won't matter if they can't field a decent QB.

They also got a JUCO TE:
Vols snare JUCO tight end Ken Adams Ken Adams, a 6-foot-3, 240-pound tight end/defensive end from Enterprise, Ala./Copiah-Lincoln Community College, Miss., has committed to Tennessee.

Yeah, I wish he'd gone elsewhere too.. but you're exactly right about their QB situation..I dont think Tyler Bray is the answer either. Posted via Mobile Device
Re: JUCO WR Kenbrell Thompkins commits to Tennessee
DeMarco Cobbs leaves for TX.....looks like NuKeese is going to go back Miami....the new is wearing off the Kiffin wagon and Thompkins is making a mistake IMO. Good luck to him anyway!!! Elephants are about to be stampeding rocks are about to start falling off Rocky Top they already have a huge rock slide shutting down that one road.
Re: JUCO WR Kenbrell Thompkins commits to Tennessee
I guess the JUCOs are what Kiffin thinks he needs. Just read this also, which I am not happy about because I believe we were also after him.
"I loved it up there," Menzie said on the heels of his official visit. "I couldn't even pick out my favorite thing. It was all great. The whole weekend was a lot of fun. The program is great, the coaches are great. It was just all good. Everything about it."
"That was probably my last visit. I feel like I'm probably going to commit soon. I almost did it a few times before I left, but I just want to make sure I'm making the right choice so I'm going to let everything cool off for a few days, but right now, I'm pretty sure it's going to be Tennessee for me," Menzie said.
Re: JUCO WR Kenbrell Thompkins commits to Tennessee
All you have to do is look at Thompkins visiting Bama for the UT to game to get the picture of where he wanted to be. Thompkins has not even visited Knoxville, he chose them sight unseen. Bama does not have room for any more WRs because of the numbers. Having said that, I still have to admit that the Vols have an incredible WR haul in this class.

They are exactly what TN needs and a lot of them. They lose some major players after this season and will not be able to compete without them and they better be ready to step in and play immediately. They lose 5 OL, 3 starters, both DE's, their best LB and Berry will leave for the NFL more than likely. That is just off the top of my head there are more....

Not right away at least, but I do like Bray's potential, I think he has the chance to develop into a very good QB. The problem for them is they need a finished product pronto, but that's just not going to happen.

I agree completely. they are losing some serious talent on that team and leadership with alot of experience. The young players this year had veterans help carry them, but next year they are going to be hurting. Maybe in 2 to 3 years UT will be right there, but I think this will be a btter year for them then next year.
