Mad new ticket prices

Share

Did everyone receive their renewal forms yet? Tulane ,Western Kentucky,$40 each.Arkansas State $45, conference games are $55 each and the aubie game $65. $85 for rv parking for A-Day,before long it will be a corporate event and everyday fans won't be able to afford to attend many games.

Re: new ticket prices

First of all, I fail to see what this has to do with RVing and tailgating.

Now, I've been hearing the "corporate event," and "average fan not being able to afford to go to games" thing ever since TidePride was instituted 20 years ago. It doesn't seem to have happened, yet.

Big A Re: new ticket prices

Hey bamalaw,
Did you miss the '85.00 for A-Day R V Parking'?

R.V. Parking has gone up every year since they started charging us to park.
Yes, we will pay what we have to because we love the Tide but how many of us saw the same thing happen to Nascar. The first trip I took to Talladega was $5.00 a carload for the infield! The last time I wanted to take the R.V. it was $600.00 for the R.V. and $85.00 per person!
How much do you want to bet that in the comming years A-Day will no longer be a free event?

Roll Tide

Yes, I did miss that part. In fact, I don't think I read the entire post. I read the thread title and skimmed the post. My mistake.

Re: new ticket prices

Yep, prices always seem to be on the rise......
However, as long as there are thousands of people on a waiting list for tix, rv lots are full & the quad tailgaters show up, the cost associated with attending these events is never going to recede.
I am by no means justifying rising costs, but its simple supply/demand. If you recall, the U of A is purchasing land near Brice, so the demand for rv spots is obviously high.
The only thing that irks me is that for my $600 to park my rv, I don't get anything other than a piece of grass spray painted for my particular location.........& I was in town the other day & saw where they have filled lot 9 (a grass lot) with gravel.

Re: new ticket prices

Coleman was at the most 2/3 full on any gameday last year.In the past we could park on thursday night after 5,now you can't park before 6 on Friday. My wife did most of our Christmas shopping the previous 5 yeaars in T-Town,this year we probably didn't spend a 1/4 of the money we had in the past.My point I guess is we don't spend as much on game weekends and other people may not either,
