I'm about to make dinner reservations for Friday night before the Clemson game. I'm looking for opinions. I'm thinking really good steaks and an overall great dining experience. I've been to the Sundial and as an overall dining experience while the sun is setting, it's pretty darn hard to beat. I'm also looking at McKendrick's and Morton's. Would like thoughts, suggestions, reviews, etc. on these and others. Thanks a bunch.
Thanks for the suggestion. Sounds great. Can't believe I'd never heard of it. Over the weekend when I was searching on the Net, all I found was McKendricks and Mortons. What I see on the menu looks great and the Wine list looks pretty good, too. Saw one of my favorites, the Penfolds Shiraz. Thanks again for suggesting it. I've already got reservations at McKendricks; however, I think I may be changing them.
I've eaten at Chops & Bones several times each. Both are awesome, old-school, if not pricey, steakhouses. Chops is where my wife goes frequently on business dinners and she also had good things to say about Rathbun's, as well. Chops has great seafood, as well. Jon might argue, but I don't think you could go wrong with any of these. McKendrick's is also very very good, but not in league with these 3, IMHO.

Thanks for the help, suggestions, and especially the reviews. I think I'd be satisfied with the reservations I've got at McKendricks, but I think I'll be changing to either Chops or Bones. Perhaps one the night before the Clemson game and the other the night before the UGA game...unless someone knows of a great steakhouse in Athens, GA.
Coach Bryant said to pack a lunch and not spend a dime in Atlanta.
What's the fun in that? I've never heard that; however, it would have to have been said in regards to playing GT, since we didn't have any other reason to be in Atlanta during his tenure.
Hey BamaLaw,
If you get tired of steak ( I never do..) and want to try an Atlanta classic within walking distance, try Pitty Pats Porch. Its about two blocks from the CNN Center. Old time southern flare with some cool twists and some great drinks. My first time there was over 30 years ago and I still have one of the souvenir glasses in my bar.
Oh yea, If anyone has any extra Clemson tickets, I need two. Tide Pride did not see fit to let me buy any.
Bones is awesome. However if you want something different and is always good conversation- visit Fogo de Chao its about 3 blocks from Bones. Its an all you can eat meat fest! They have the coasters on the table one side is green- as long as it is up they keep bringing you a sizzling variety of fine meats on a sword and cut it off right at your table. I dont even bother with the salad bar but it is wonderful with smoked salmon and anything else you can imagine.
This is a great place to take a bunch of guys on a Bama football weekend.
