Share

Wondering if anyone brings a satellite dish to their tailgate? What service is used and how did you get your dish? I dont have dish at home i have charter, so i didnt know if i could just order service and just use it at the tailgate, or buy one used and buy the service? Just looking for any insight.

I have a portable dish I bought from a local satellite place for about $75. It's a directv 300 satellite, so no high def, but it works. I have directv now, but I used to use it with dish. I just yank a receiver out of the bedroom and take it with me. There's no extra charge, just have to have the service.

Re: Satelitte Dish?

You can get everything you need from either Directtv or dish network except the tripod. They usually offer up to 4 rooms free with new service. I just take a spare bedroom receiver with me in our rv. You can have your dish for games & cable for home, but, IMO, there's no need to pay for both all year.

We do the same thing. It is an easy set-up and we get the games all year long. We have Dish Network.

I use a dish that I purchased from the Direct people. I just unhooked one of my receivers from my house and all you need is power. Remeber you'll need two receptacles; one for the TV and one for the receiver.

ThumbsUp Re: Satelitte Dish?

Dish Network ViP211 receiver (with HD channels) used with VuQube (http://www.wallacet.com/vuqube/). This eliminates the need for a large Dish and TriPod. Only downside is that today, it can only lock on one Sat at a time (110,119, etc..) for either Dish or DirectTv. You can pre-program two satellite positions though but you can swap between those two with a provided remote.
