Pros and Cons of Tailgating with HD Dish???

Share

Hey guys,

I'm looking at getting a dish for tailgating. I talked to a dealer yesterday who told me it's a pain to try to maintain a signal with an HD dish when tailgating. I wanted to check with some of you who use dishes and see if any of you had any experience with this? The flat, HD tvs would be much easier to transport and a lot lighter than a tube tv. I just thought I'd get y'alls thoughts and see if any of you have tried a HD dish and had any success/problems. Basically, the only channels I'd want are the ones showing the games (mainly the ESPNs and the local ones) so didn't know if that would make it easier in terms of lining up with a certain satellite, etc.

Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

Alabama is 2- and 3-deep all over the place with full grown, meaner-than-he!! men. It's almost not fair making college kids play against them. Any Saban-coached team is going to be deep as he!! with recruits that have elite size, strength and experience at their position and they are going to play with incredible physicality.
I support PAWS.

Once you get the hang of pointing a dish its not too difficult...no matter if its standard or hd. I have had problems a couple times getting a signal on the quad, but that is related to trees & not the fish itself.
Bottom line for me, HDtv is the best thing that has happened to football/tailgating in a looong time!

Re: Pros and Cons of Tailgating with HD Dish???

I went to my local rv dealer here in Tupelo and bought a tripod stand. It has the level bubble and a compass mounted on it. What used to take me forever to find a signal now takes a total of 30 seconds or less, and it cost me around $40.00,,,well worth it with no problem at all.. Flat screen's are so much easier to see and with hardly no glare from the sun.
