RV tips for Tuscaloosa next week.

Has anyone seen the movie RV with Robin Williams? That's going to be me for the Ole Miss game. I'm planning on borrowing my parents RV and coming down for the Ole Miss game. I know that there are reserved RV lots, and I checked uagameday.com which states that the reserved RV passes are sold out. Those are for the entire season, though. It has a list of RV lots, and then says that there are three other 'reserve' lots on campus. Not sure if that means that all the lots are reserve and there are just three more not in the list or if the list is public and the other three are reserved.

Are there any lots on campus that are open to the public or available for single games only?

I also noticed that there appear to be no hook-ups or electricity available on campus, unless I'm missing something there. Are there any lots or anything on or near the campus with hookups and/or electricity?

A lot of questions here, but I'd appreciate any advice you guys can offer.

There is a lot on Jack Warner Parkway but I don't know if it has elec. It's ran by the Marine Corp something or other. You could probably get the info on it or a POC from the Tuscaloosa Chamber of Commerce. The Chamber may be able to give you more info on lots in the city.

MODS: I just noticed that there is an RVing board. Guess I should pay attention to more than just the Football, Recruiting, and Video Game boards, eh?

Anyway, if this needs to be moved, please feel free to do so.

Re: RV tips for Tuscaloosa next week.

Before you get moved to the RV site I'll reply because I was in the same boat for the KY game. We called the Marines lot which was $200 for the weekend -- no hookups. We went to the lot behind Brunos (on McFarland blvd) and paid nothing. No hookups there either but we didn't need them. There were a lot of motor homes there and I'll stay there every time from now on. Hope this helps.

We stay at Deerlick Park 13 miles from BDS. We tailgate at the quad

Re: RV tips for Tuscaloosa next week.

Check the sticky threads @ the top of the rv board for the # to Geer Brothers...that is about the only lot/s that will have full hook ups near campus. They are usually booked solid by July for game weekends, but its worth a shot.
Like an earlier poster said, your best free spot is behind Bruno's. No hook ups, but you can set up shop as early as Wednesday or Thursday.
I stopped staying on campus this year because we tailgate on the quad & I hate paying that much for what is essentially gravel with no hook ups & no entry until Friday @ 6, but something that irks me is the # of empty spaces I see in lot 9 & a few others when people like yourself are willing to use them...I will get off my soapbox now

We have noticed the same thing at Coleman for the last two years. They say they are sold out of spots but it is never more than half to 2/3 full.

Re: RV tips for Tuscaloosa next week.

I agree with kcin.. This was my first time to rv in Tuscaloosa, I bought a pass from someone for $100.00 and it was nice to be close to the game with a short walk back to the cooler and grill. But I couldn't believe all the empty spot's at Coleman where we stayed.Every rv lot I walked past had plenty of empty spot's. I didn't know about Bruno's but I am going to definately check it out. If I were you I would go to Bruno's especially if it's your first time to go then you can walk around and check thing's out and talk to tailgater's at the rv lot's to see if they know who has extra passes so you can stay on campus. By the way, when we got in Tuscaloosa for some reason there was no gas,we had to go to 3 different gas stations to fill the tanks up to run the generator all weekend so you might want to consider filling up somewhere a little closer to where you live.

When are you getting to the lot behind Brunos? I thought about going up on Thursday morning to drop my travel trailer off and come back on Friday afternoon after work. Is that a safe option? Thanks.
