    Re: NFL Combine 2015

This could be great news as the Raiders historically tend to like very fast receivers.
  2. Re: Tyren Jones Suspended for Conduct Not to the Standard of the Program

Jordan is an outlier since he was able to leverage endorsement deals even after he retired. Very few athletes are able do that.

    Re: J. Winston's Impressive Physique

Good point. The "skinny-fat" physique (slender build with slight gut) seems to be the standard in the NFL now for drop back passers. Another prime example is Matt Ryan.
  4. Re: Conference Commissioners Considering Freshman Ineligibility

Could you elaborate on how it helps the athletes? Wouldn't the players still have all the same responsibilities (practice, meetings, etc)?

It seems like it would also hurt athletes that need a...

Link: Re: The Rookie Scouting Portfolio: Blake Sims

It's most likely a case of the statistical fallacy called "survivor bias".
  6. Re: Gary Patterson Wants All Conference Championship Games Eliminated

The committee is placing a premium on conference champions and are very reliant on the championship games to help prevent 2 teams from the same conference from being in the top 4.

    I don't really...
  7. Re: Rule Change Proposal: Ineligible Man Downfield Decreased to One Yard

The NFL does a good job not letting the game devolve into chaos - does anyone know they handle this?
  8. Re: Recruits refusing to sign LOIs - a new trend?

From what I gather, the financial-aid agreements are for a specified academic term, so expiration dates wouldn't apply. The player either enrolls in school and claims it or lets it go unclaimed by...
  9. Re: Recruits refusing to sign LOIs - a new trend?

I may be mistaken, but from what I've found, the rule changed due to signing multiple agreements only clarified if all of the schools involved could operate under the relaxed recruiting rules or just...
  10. Re: Recruits refusing to sign LOIs - a new trend?

Was this rule changed? Josh Malone signed financial aid agreements Tennessee, Georgia, Clemson and Florida State before ultimately enrolling at UT.

Re: Coach questions grad transfer rule

This is a great rule for college as it gives student-athletes an opportunity to earn a chance after completing their undergrad to take move on a better situation if they want to. The coach is...
  12. Re: Recruits refusing to sign LOIs - a new trend?

Great find. The bolded portion of the snippet below illustrates how the participants in this process are being naive.

Smith and his coach don't seem to grasp that building a recruiting class...
  13. Re: Recruits refusing to sign LOIs - a new trend?

I'm pretty sure a recruit can sign multiple - otherwise the financial aid agreement would bind the player to the school.

It should work the same as the financial aid agreements that many recruits...
  14. Re: Anybody else watching Trent Richardson's NFL career go down the drain?

It's doubtful that any running backs will go in the first round for quite a while. Even Falcons fans had a negative reaction to a rumor that Gurley might be a 2nd round pick for them.

    Not many...
  15. Re: Tyren Jones Suspended for Conduct Not to the Standard of the Program

Tyren Jones went to Walton high school in Marietta - it's hardly a rough patch.

Kamara is from Norcross, Drake from Powder Springs and Freitag from Buford. All of those places are suburbs and...
