    Re: Cuba

The policy was stupid in the beginning and was instituted by the Kennedy's after their Bay of Pigs fiasco. After that, no president, or candidate dared oppose if for fear of the Cuban American vote....

Re: UA Prez Judy Bonner Resigning

I'm not sure she was regarded (or regarded herself) as more than just a caretaker. I saw her appointment as a reward for a faithful lifelong #2. IOW, this is not really a big deal...
  4. Re: WWII: European Theater daily - 1944 (was Normandy Daily)

I read an entire book on the Malmedy Massacre. Peipper going free with only a prison sentence was a travesty. His entire unit took on his personality. Nevertheless, the "take no prisoners" edict came...

No, she lives in Morgan County. The Klonowski murder happened in Madison County. When the lid finally blows off that, it will be national news and not in a good way...

I hear your argument, absolutely. I just think it's far, far too harsh to apply to a man of the age he was speaking with and was trying to make a sensible case to the LEO, who basically just was...

I agree, in part. Both my brothers had some college, one at UA, the other at B-So. One ended up a pilot in a fighter doing sub duty off south FL. The other a navigator in a B-17 in the 8th Air...

They have a full plate right now, but the victim was Hispanic, so who knows?

That's interesting. My great niece over in Decatur is married to a LEO, an investigator. She jumps in quickly to defend them. I have an old friend, 35 years or so, who is a retired ER director/doc...

Your reply brought up a real piece of mystery for me. Most people know for a long time that they're going to have to have THA. In my case, I found out two months ago, yesterday. About two weeks or so...

Will do. The surgical device I really preferred was taken off the market in September. I'm having it done by one of the hip guys in the Andrews Group, so I feel I'm in good hands...
