Maybe the Bama staff don't have their "priorities straight." I mean can you believe they took a break from recruiting and took off for a Caribbean cruise. ;) Honestly, I don't know. It must be that they have the safties offered rated ahead of him. There are a whole lot of very good DBs on the Bama prospect list that haven't been offered. Douglas sounds like a very good Safety prospect to me.

Tim Tebow is among the best of the best for the 2005 baseball season

Strong-armed quarterback no diamond in the rough
They swarm to the Nease baseball field off U.S. 1 in St. Augustine. It's a Who's Who of college football coaches, including Florida's Urban Meyer, USC's Pete Carroll, Michigan's Lloyd Carr, Oklahoma's Bob Stoops and Georgia's Mark Richt.

There are many others and they all hope to see and be seen by Nease left fielder Tim Tebow.
Florida All-State Baseball Team – 4A
The best of the best for the 2005 season in the state of Florida. Introducing the 4A All-State baseball teams.

Outfielder Tim Tebow, Nease (Ponte Vedra Beach), jr.

I agree, though I am admittedly biased. J.D. is a good player, and an even better kid. I know the staff likes the kids to come to camp, but obviously that's not possible for everyone. Let's hope that an offer comes down, because there is no doubt who he would choose. Let's keep the Prattville Pipeline flowing, Tony Dixon..Kyle Tatum..Bobby Greenwood..J.D. Douglas..Tim Rawlins

6'3", 230 lb. MLB Charlie Kirschman has received a Bama offer. He has some really good offers, but I think we are really high on his list.

Oh, and by the way, he's Tim Tebow's teammate. :)

Florida Linebacker High on Tide
Kirschman said, "I have not narrowed down my list yet, but Alabama is way up there. I would have to say they are my favorite right now. I am very excited about the offer from them. The other schools I am interested in are the ones who have offered me."

Kirschman was in Tuscaloosa for summer camp and had a chance to see first hand what the Tide has to offer.

"I am impressed with the school, the tradition, and the coaching staff. Alabama is a great place," Kirschman said.

Early 2006 Recruiting Class Prediction.......

These are based on what I know and feel and think might happen. FYI

QB - Tim Tebow - More and more each day I am hearing good things. What looked like a longshot may end up being reality.
RB - Mike Ford (Prep)
RB - Chris Brown - I like our chances with him, may come down to Bama vs. OU.
FB - Patrick Hanaran - Bryant, Expected in Dec.
WR - Nikita Stover - JC with 3 yrs to play 3, Expected in Dec.
WR - Tim Hawthorne - Still may be a battle between UT, but staff making up ground. Alt could be Terrell Zachary (down to Bama vs. Aub.) Could take both.
TE - Preston Dial - Between Bama vs. FSU, Bama wins and might make decision by end of summer.
TE - Michael Goggans - Between UT and Bama, it will be tough, but I see him staying. Could play DE.
C - Cole Harvey (Gray Shirt) Expected in dec.
G - Andre Smith - I have a funny feeling on this, but I still say Bama
G - Maurice Hurt - Something tells me Bama. Key here is UGA has not offered, expected in Dec.
T - Taylor Pharr - Commit
G/C - Brian Motley - Commit, Coaches fighting over side of ball.

DT - Jermarcus Ricks - I believe he stays in state.
SDE - Peanut Whitehead - Some say he will recommit to Clemson, think staff goes after him hard.
SDE - Jeramie Holifield - JC Commit 3 years to play 2, Expected in Dec
WDE - Craig Marshall - Soon, very soon

I think staff goes after 2 more DE's type who move to middle: Here are two I love (both from Kentucky)
DE - Micah Johnson
DE - Josh Minton

MLB - Higgenbotham - Commit
OLB - AJ Jones
OLB - Toryan Smith
OLB - Charlie Kirscham ( From Nease) ;)
OLB - Derrick Odom - (Begging here)

CB - Tremayne Coger - Commit
CB - Deandre McDaniel
CB/S - Marquis Johnson
S - Travis Sikes - If Hall does make it
S - Andy Davis - Commit
S - Sam Burnthall

That's a total of 30, minus one Bryant. Some could grayshirt.
Staff could add another OT.

Sorry for being short here, can update later.

pretty good list there Tide...

just a few comments....

It'll be interesting to see how the Mike Ford situation plays out. It could affect how or how many RBs we recruit, if he goes to Hargrave or actually qualifies.
I, too, like Chris Brown.

Preston Dial seems to be leaning more towards Bama over FSU now. Dial and Goggans are our top 2 at TE. If Dial commits, it will be interesting to see if he affects Goggans decision any.

Peanut Whitehead has said repeatedly he wants out of state. But, he did back out of his original commit to Clemson, so we could get in on him.

I'm hearing Jerami Holifield needs to stay on the books...makes me a little leary, especially for a JUCO.

Cole Harvey will be here in August, working out, but not practicing in drills.

Toryan Smith looks more like a MLB to me. Kirschman could probably move inside no problem.

Hurt and Motley could play OL or DL. 5-6 OL is probably a good prediction for this class. David Ross, though the Eddins are on him, could be another added to the list. A few sleepers, such as Batchelor and Drum, could emerge.

Don't think we could turn down Hawthorne AND Zachery, but a hunch says we get only one of those to go with Stover.

Would like to get Josh Minton, but the Hokies might be tough to beat for him.

Most of the signs were that Forbes would not qualilfy. Here is the article.

Tide’s Forbes misses score
The incoming recruiting class for the University of Alabama football team has sustained its first academic casualty.

Defensive end Antonio Forbes (6-4, 265 pounds) from Meadowcreek High School in Norcross, Ga., told Scout.com late Tuesday that he didn’t score high enough on the SAT to qualify. He’ll likely head to a junior college next season.

Patrick Hanrahan

Will Join the Tide
by Andrew Bone of Scout.com, June 20, 2005 at 9:14am ET

Patrick Hanrahan Profile

Patrick Hanrahan, from Springville High School, was unsure about his college destination until two days ago when he went to Tuscaloosa for a visit with the Crimson Tide.
The 6-1, 240 pound fullback accepted a grey-shirt offer.

"I have already graduated high school. I graduated in May. I went down to Alabama on Tuesday. I met with Coach Shula. He offered me a grey-shirt," said Patrick Hanrahan.

There is a possibility Hanrahan could see action in the fall opposed to sitting out until January. "I will be enrolling in school in the fall," he said. "The coaches want me to in case they need to pull me in to play fullback. I will most likely be a grey-shirt like John Parker Wilson was last year. It's 50/50 right now."

Hanrahan was unsure about his future because of his core classes in high school. Hanrahan said, "It was a long process for me. At the end of my eleventh grade year, there were a lot of schools showing interest in me. I found out I didn't have enough core classes. I had to re-take the ACT. I recently found out everything went through with the NCAA Clearinghouse."

"Alabama was the school who maintained contact with me. When they found out everything went through with the NCAA Clearinghouse they asked me to come down to meet with them. Alabama is a place where I have always wanted to go. It's a great school and I'm excited," added Hanrahan.

When asked about his strengths on the field Hanrahan replied, "My strengths are running the ball and blocking. I really love contact. The main thing I would like to improve is my speed. I ran a 4.63 (laser time), but I know I need to keep working on it."

Other schools showing interest included Ole Miss, Mississippi State, Tennessee, and Kentucky.

Hanrahan sports a 330 pound bench press. A 465 pound squat and a 275 pound power clean max.

Have y'all heard anything about this guy? I was just looking through our 05 class and found him. I thought it was kind of odd for a player to be showing up on the 05 class this late.

I haven't heard of him, but its an excellent pick up. We definitely need more depth at fullback. It Le'Ron Goes down, we could be in trouble.

yes, look back through this thread, and you'll find discussion on him.

He'll likely be in after January and be counted towards the class of '06. However, he'll likely be a Bryant Scholarship.

What are the chances of landing Alex Stadler. He seems interested and he's a monster.
He was very impressed with campus/facilities and we have made a top 7 or 8 for him. However, distance may ultimately play a factor.
